winchester_royal Not writing him off as a player, but when someone says 'I will not be staying England' that tends to imply he's not going to be particularly motivated for the season ahead.

Where has he actually said this?

We are defiantly big time when Sevilla are our Feeder Club.

A Loan is good for Reading really. Look after him for a year, see how he does, bring him back (if he's any good) for the Prem next year.

I suspect however he'll only play 3 games for them next year or won't want to come back regardless. So sell him on for a profit and use the funds to buy a player that the current crop of reading fans wouldn't complain about constantly.

Maybe the sporting Lisbon captain?

Seems like he may have had a falling out with Adkins (just says coach, so not too clear) so don't think we'll ever see him play for Reading again.

He won't be coming back regardless as he hasn't settled in England and fallen out with the coach.

What's the bet he'll play consistently for them

By 'coach' he may mean McD, as he seemed to be explaining why last season hadn't gone well, so there may be a future for him here. Hard to see him coming back though,

The loan includes a 750k euro purchase apparently.

Hoop Blah Happy with this. Clearing out the deadwood from the squad is sometimes quite hard but we've managed to ship a few out already so that's promising.

Could never understand the blind optimism surrounding the guy to be honest, and can't say I'm surprised he's not going to be involved this season.

....... and yet again we get a Nobber making judgements on a player based solely on the rumours/ comments on here. Who says he isn't going to be fully committed and involved?

No Fixed Abode Well this news is a bit  for the club.

Hardly. He was signed by a previous manager who miss-managed him, as he did a number of his other signings and players in general. The club brought a promising player to the club to help keep the club up, he came in on a decent wage, we went down, it didn't work out, and now he's off the wage bill and we stand to get more than we paid for him if they take the option to buy next summer. It's not embarrassing for anyone.

I don't think that's fair. KFC has been replaced with a kebab shop. Maybe that's why Carrico went? It's Bobby Mikhailov all over again!!

So just to clarify, is this actually official? I've only seen it reported on Twitter.

Probably fell out with both of them.

Carrico: I'm fit and raring to play Brian.
McD: Go for it.
After the game
Carrico: I am fit and looking forward to starting the next game.
Media: :|
McD: :| Dropped.
Carrico: :x

Months pass.

Carrico: I'm fit and raring to play Nigel
Adkins: I'll give you a go off the bench.
After the game
Carrico: I am fit and looking forward to starting the next game.
Adkins: :| Not bloody likely.
Carrico: :x I wanna go home!
Hammond: On your bike.

I've not said anything on his commitment, so find that a bit of an odd comment, but obviously the above is in response to the loan deal being true.

Even if it's not I, personally, can't see him being too involved this season. He's hardly played any football for 18 months and when he has he's struggled to win a place in the side. I think he's shot, either mentally, physically, or perhaps both. I've said it pretty much since we signed him and I've seen nothing to change that opinion.

Perhaps he'll prove me wrong, but if these Seville rumours are true then he's kind of run out of time to do it.

Really? That's a shame. KFC was convienent in Tilehurst for a range of reasons, but such is "progress". It's been so long since I lived there that Mark Whitlock was still playing for Reading, so I can't complain, it's not like I give them regular custom or brighten up their day.

where has this been reported??

Not a bad move if it happens, though I would have liked to have seen him play a bit more than he did.
