'Greek'? thought Limassol was in Cyprus which has its own league.

Not a massive surprise, hopefully the funds will help us get a centre half.

Wish him the best of luck, I never really rated him but he got some useful goals for us

Polish striker Grzegorz Rasiak has signed a two-year contract with the fifth team of the Cypriot league last season, AEL Limassol-I.

1931-year old Rasiak, who is graduate of Poznan Olympia for the past six years has appeared in the English leagues - at Derby County, Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton, Bolton Wanderers, Reading and Watford. In Poland, he rode the Warta Poznan, GKS Belchatow, Odra Wodzislaw and Dyskobolia. The national team played 37 events, scoring eight goals.

No loss for me. Wonder if we got a fee??

Superb news- cheerio donkey! It says on the OS that he was fairly expensive for us to keep?!?! What kind of world do we live in? Or what kind of wage did Rodgers put him on?!

So an expensive wage-earner gone... enough for a CB?

Not according to the OS:

With one or two injuries at centre back, is there a chance of bringing Zurab Khizanishvili back?
BM: We haven't got the means to do that.

So you can't snap him up on loan?
BM: Once again, we haven't got the means to do that.

Brian has clearly been dictated to about this whole situation regardless of the fact that the WHOLE club apart from the very top managment see it as a necessary way of us moving forward. Surely he wouldn't be on that much of a higher wage than Rasiak?!

Massive problem for Reading that above line. Rasiak going pff won't make much difference squad player. Had a knack of scoring some goals at vital times but BM prefers the others to him.

This is the first summer i can recall where Reading really haven't signed anyone of note. Griffin and Williams were absolute essentials who neither cost a great deal of money. There's always been the one stand out signing or the fine tuning of the squad gone on, Reading are desperately short of quality at the back and up front. If they go all season with this squad then their only concerns this year should be avoiding relegation.

He was frustrated with a lack of football and was the highest earner in the current squad so a good move for both sides

Not on your nelly.

And a worrying sign in my opinion. We're willing to let him go for free just to get him off the payroll. We must be seriously strapped at the moment. More seriously than many of us thought.

Impossible. Reading are a well run club. They tell us so all the time.

No one runs a better ship than Reading.
