We're worse than last year!

After 3 League games and 1 LCup last season we had 2 points and had scored 5 and conceded 4.....

Same points this season but we have scored 4 and conceded 4.

Even Fed has chosen to err earlier this year. Last year he waited until the 4th League game to chuck the ball over his shoulder against Sheff Utd.

Perhaps we will come good against Leicester [and I bet they are glad to be playing an out of form side too!].

Of course we're worse than last year we've gotten rid of Rasiak, Bertrand, Kish, Matejovsky etc... and not replaced with anyone better.

It seems Madejski really doesn't want the Prem and is trying everything he can to make sure we just miss out. Do a bit too well and we offload enough players just to make us struggle, as I guess financially a "nearly" team in the Champ who has the excitement of almost winning the biggest prize in sport (promotion to the Prem) is much more lucrative than a team acheiving nothing in the Prem but on huge wages etc... ?

Anyway back to the original thread - yep not doing as well.

Is it because we've sold players so are weaker?

I think we'll come good, but not as good as last year's/season's second half

You can't take any real note of form or table until you've played at least 5 league absolute minimum... preferably 10.

We're starting slowly and there are problems. But I'm willing to stick my neck out to predict we'll have more than 10 points 14 games into the season.

Yes thats fair comment Ian....it will take 10 League games for the table to start giving an indication where this Laegue is heading and just one win makes a lot of difference. I still think we have plenty of goals in this side but I'm not feeling as confident about the season as I was. It justs feels flat at the moment.

The post was about 4 - 3 league and 1 cup - games - so we are worse off...... but the post was written with tongue firmly in cheek as it is much too early to spot a reliable pattern. However, I don't see much prospect of us doing anything spectacular in the League this season. Hoping for a cup run though!

Perhaps not the majority, but certainly a worrying percentage.

From including a home league cup tie with a hopeless Burton team as proof of a downward spiral, to an apparent belief that Madejski is deliberately sabotaging the possibility of promotion, it does make you feel sometimes that a section of our fans could be outsmarted by a cup of vegetable soup.
