A 1-0 home defeat to Hartlepool on a Friday night December 91. EP packed to the rafters for this one.

Better luck the following season

Not footage related but can't think where else to stash it, Backpass magazine (it has a picture of Stuart Pearce on the front) has a couple of pages on the career of Dorchester's finest son, Trevor Senior that's worth a read.

Tony Le Mesmer If anyone finds themselves a bit bored this Christmas, i'm looking for footage of the following games. No luck here so far:

Birmingham away May 1990 1-0 win, crowd trouble, Gilkes scoring the least popular reading goal ever
Tranmere away December 1990 - FOG
Chester away March 1991 - Lowest league gate for a Reading game
Tranmere home 1995 (play offs) - Seems like the 2nd leg didn't actually happen

I don't log on very often. I'll try to do these for you soon if you had no luck before?

Clearing out stuff from my parents house at the weekend I found a tonne of programmes from the 90s, loads of Heaven Eleven fanzines, all sorts of things.

Even found a hastily printed leaflet from a Friday night friendly we had against Steau Bucharest back in c. 1996. Anyone remember that? They had some fairly well known players in their side such as Marius Lacatus.

They had really nice Adidas training tops and played us off the park. Remember thinking how good they were, then I think Rangers completely dicked them a week or so later.

FACT: Reading 0-3 Steau Bucharest was the final appearance in a Reading shirt at EP for Shaka Hislop.

Does anybody still have any memorabilia except the match programme from Reading-Steaua friendly?

Or any video highlights/photos?

Thanks in advance,

Remember when Ian Gillan was going to take over? We all hoped he would be our Elton John and take us to the top. Anyone remember the game he came to? I remember he sat in the middle of the Norfolk Road stand below the directors box.

Early stages and goal from the FA Cup 1st Round match v Birmingham City in 1992, live on Super Sunday!

This was the game that was supposed to be the breakout moment for James Lambert. It was all down hill from there unfortunately.

Great voice from the Southbank, towering Jimmy Quinn trademark header and Mick Gooding laying down the marker after 8 secs!

Sorry for poor quality, but I will be uploading a few more tip bits in the coming weeks.

I have all season review VHS and DVDs available if anyone wants one in particular. Need to make space so will be willing to agree on a nominal fee.

A reminder of how good Jimmy Quinn was in the air-how we could do with somebody similar now.
It surprised me that the back-pass rule was around in 1992.
Young 17 year old Graham Potter, now manager of Brighton, was playing for Birmingham

Thanks for the memory Tony.

Wasn’t that the season that Reading’s first 3 FA Cup rounds were all live on the telly? Birmingham, Orient and then Man City (though believe the Man City one was the replay after the other game that Sky were going to show was frozen off).

Yes that's right - I've got the entire Orient game broadcast on Sky on a video somewhere....I believe it was a Saturday tea time which was unheard for live games back then

I was in St Lucia for the Orient game but managed to record it AND get home to watch it without knowing the result 8)
