A top half Championship side has to be pushing for promotion, else they are a bottom half Championship side, especially in a league this year with a real paucity of talent, with the exception of QPR, who seem very reminiscent of our promotion side a few years ago.

I'd like to see a small investment in the new year (Gylfi's money?) to have a Premiership push during the tail end of the season.

I wouldn't mind if we got relegated again straight away, as the parachute payments would keep the club going for another two years at least.

Also I'd like to have proper Rollover hotdogs back please.

Hmmm.. the makings of a wish list.

For me, the most important thing to happen will be the sale of the club by Madejski. The old boy has obviously got other fish to fry, and the sale will allow him to play property developer, and at the same time, will give forward impetus to the football club. I genuinely believe that self sufficiency, in terms of continually selling our better playing assets to cover operational losses will ultimately be at the cost of our Championship status. I hope he can find a buyer before that happens.

Ok, let's shoot the moon. What an absolute change it would be if the new owner was the diametric opposite of JM. Really expensive signings, grabbing headlines in the national media. Signings that could capture the imagination of the whole region. Noveau Royals queueing past the North stand to get their season tickets.

A Major cup win would be nice. We could then collectively thumb our noses at the red abomination in Wiltshire, and #%**^^%, (the artists formerly known as Headington United)

Conversion of the Madstad. A further tier put around three sides. The bit under the overhang to be standing, the upper bit seated, like a proper football ground should be. Oh, and while they're at it, re name the North stand the “Town End”

The ressurrection of Off at Eleven, so I can mix football banter with the merits of diesel hydraulic locomotives.

RFC becomes a yo-yo team. Optimism & pessimism in equal measure.

Wouldn't mind trying another go at the top flight, maybe stay there for a 2 season stint like last time, then come back, after, let's be like the Albion, boing up and down

.............McCarthy
..Keown, Pearce, Hector, Obita
.......Karacan, Tshibola
Tanner......Taylor............Fosu
..........Robson-Kanu

It's no more hodge podge than some of the XIs we had to put out last season and it only requires 4 debuts.

I want to churn out an academy based team. In becoming self sufficient we are safeguarding our future. This financial blip sounds as if it is recoverable. We might have to just endure some turbulent years. I could see a lot of teams being in a lot worse position in the future
