2 goal comebacks

by andrew1957 » 02 Nov 2010 14:58

In light of last Saturday's match being only the second two goal comeback in the last 18 years - see OS link below. I just wondered if any of the stattos know how often Reading have been 2 or more goals up and then gone on to lose a league game. The most recent example that I can think of was Peterborough away last year. Has it been a frequent occurrence.

There was a game away Vs Barnsley but it was at least 20 years ago

2-0 up after 10 mins and lost 5-2

cannot think of any others - relagation seasons are usually a good place for this type of thing but we haven't had many recently.

one comeback worth mentioning is a game v Sheff Utd away late 80's(?) - 3-0 down and got a draw.

Superb shoe-horning in of another a*se-lick for LOLong, despite the OP clearly asking for stats on a league game.

Not Reading, but i once slotted home to put Twyford Comets U10s 1 up against Reeves Rangers. We went on to lose 21-1. :|

Not Reading but I watched Newport County 4-0 down at half-time.

At Cambridge

We got back to 4-4 then went behind again 5-4 then got to 5-5 and won 6-5.

The atmosphere was INCREDIBLE!

That one made 6-06 and I WAS THERE!!!

It was pishing down and the Cambridge manager made the team stay out in the rain after the game.

We? You're Welsh? That explains a bit (no offence PEARCEY).

If you imagine each Snowball post read in a Welsh accent it becomes infinitely more bearable.

middlesborough - 1st game in prem 2-0 down won 3-2

west brom in cup at home in champ winning season 2-0 down won 3-2

not quite the same but several years ago i was at the 6-4 exeter away win when we threw away a 4-1 half time lead, they got it to 4-4, think they nearly went 5-4 up, then we got 2 more and killed the game
