Team for QPR

by andrew1957 » 02 Feb 2011 15:16

A difficult decision for Brian - with Leigertwood unavailable.

Legs and Karacan have formed a great partnership and the danger is that we could be lightweight in midfield without him. Howard may also still be out - so Gunnar would be my pick as he is the nearest to Legs in the way he plays - but a big risk as he has not played for so long. I think Tabb and Karacan would be too lightweight.

As I result I would revert to 4-5-1 for just this game. Hopefully Long can play the one up front role but if not I would go for Church - but with Manset and Hunt on the bench, so we could revert to 4-4-2 if needed.

I would move Harte to left mid and McAnuff to play behind the striker. Harte is a risk at left back against a good QPR side and without the cover that Legs provides but we need his creativity.

----------Feds-----------
Griffin Mills Pearce Harte
----Karacan McAnuff----
Kebe------------------Hunt
-------Long Manset-------

They're going to score a few, so lets just try and win it by scoring more and not conceding less. Not that that makes any sense

No need for a formation change, we are the home team and should play our normal game.

Tabb is next in line to play centre mid so think he will get the nod, with Gunnar back on the bench. Would also put Hunt back upfront in place of Church

Why do you think Brain brought in Leigertwood - surely it is because Karacan and Tabb are simply too lightweight to play together and Karacan is the best of the two at the moment. Gunnar or Howard (if fit) for me rather than Tabb - and I like Tabb. Just one of thise things.

Start with Manset and Hunt, after his injury leave Long on bench, supersub time for him.

Church was excellent last night.

Manset showed exactly what we've been missing so far this season though. Someone who actually gets in the area when the ball's out wide.
