AthleticoSpizz good stuff......thought Deano went to Millwall tho'

I think your right Spizz, might of gone to Millwall after us but I'm sure he was at Brizzle when he died. Ceefax was the knowledge of the time and always remember that night when I read the tragic news.

Yep and his Mrs was driving !

Anyway, just realised another good omen the only two times I have been to Wembley was the Simod and England 5 v 0 Luxembourg 1977 so two wins Reading and the English !

Drew_3 never mind all that, did you get the scarf and programme back?

Exactly! Did you get them back?

If so wear the scarf!

If not, it's a bad omen

Yes both were saved, the scarf is the old dark blue light blue "The Royals" which was washed today and will be making the trip. The Programme is safe and has been read today.
Did you know that the Coventry Semi produced record receipts for the club of £60,217 !!!
Michael Gilkes was Reading's youngest player and because we sold Deano Horrix to Bristol City a couple of weeks before the final, Gilkes played up front and was fantastic that day. Sadly Dean was killed a couple of years later in a car crash.

Nice one Tam! Got to be a good omen if you found it and saved it after all these years. COME ON YOU ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Sorry to hear about Deano, didn't know that  )

The Cap
I believe strongly that you don't talk about good omens before the event for fear of jinxing them.

Sorry Ian, with all due respect, that's a load of bullshit mate.

Omens, superstitions and all that baloney. No way.

URZZ Those worried about wearing the '95 shirt, out of fear of a bad omen...

Fear not, it's just a shirt, wear it with PRIDE. I'd wear mine if it still fit me, due to the fact it was my first shirt purchased for myself as a 6 year old, I don't think I'll be fitting into it, although if I could, I wouldn't hesitate... hope to see as many of them as possible.

Let's win in the oxf*rd shirt!

We have NEVER won when I've worn that shirt, so despite it being my favorite shirt of Reading that I've ever owned I now never wear it when we're playing. I'd love to wear it on Monday, but I won't.

I worn it in a Bar in Spain in 95 and although the best replica shirt the club has ever sold I know what you mean so it's out of the reckoning for me too on Monday

2 world wars, 1 world cup I have never received monetary donations from HNA members in the run up to the playoffs and we have always done badly. I spot a pattern.

So to be different, it would definitely be a good omen to receive such donations this time round as I'm sure you'll agree. If you're true Reading fans and are not plastics you will donate to my Nigerian bank account.

PM me with your bank details please.

Thank you.

The last time we got promoted, we replaced Birmingham City, who that season were relegated from the Premiership in 18th place.

The only ground I didn't go to when we were in the Premiership was Upton Park, so it would be sods law that we get promoted while they get relegated, meaning I'll still have yet to tick it off the list.

Along the same lines I was kinda looking forward to a first visit to the brand new away-support-friendly Falmer stadium at Brighton (anything but the Withdean), but sod's law says we'll damn well go and get promoted too.
