Cummings

by retro royal » 11 Sep 2011 11:46

So far McDermott has brought in 3 left backs Harte, Williams, J Mills yet in my opinion Cummings is the best we have got. So can someone please tell me why he is not starting. Is he injured, after his poor start and not let us down in the last year, played brilliant against Cardiff.

Didn't he play right midfield against Cardiff?

Exactly he's still the best left back we've got, he played there couple of seasons ago and did well

In saying that, there's no harm in sticking him on the right of midfield.

Someone out of position giving 110% is better than someone in position not giving a sh!te.

I'm still baffled as to why he came on for Karacan with 10 minutes to go yesterday when 2-0 down.

far from it but a massive improvement on the lazy shoulder shrugging grumpy looking andy griffin. everything about him and his game is wrong at the moment, whereas cummings has come on leaps and bounds and deserves his chance.

Well he can run a lot innit and everyone knows that running around and showing passion is what wins you football matches.

Completely agree. Karacan hadn't looked bad and was getting forward. Cummings comes on with 10 minutes left and is never going to be up to speed in time to make a difference. Much more sensible to change our shape and bring Gunnarsson on for one of the striker, pushing Kebe, HRK & McAnuff up into more attacking positions, almost 4-2-4. Or in fact do nothing.

Cummings aginst Cardiff away last season in the play offs looked good. Composed on the ball and did the simple things really well. I can only assume he doesn't impress in the training, but McDonut certainly isn't a big fan of him.

what a load of nonsense from chelsea's biggest armchair fan. mcdermott is convinced the side need experience and the experience will see us through this bad spell. sadly he's blinkered and needs to grow some balls and be prepared to upset one or two people and make the changes we need. griffin out being the glaringly obvious one right now.

Solid performance by Cummings against Donnie.

A good run in the side is needed as he should only get better with the more games played.

Kebe also looked happier with Cummings playing on the right with him. Shame he got injured. It gave Kebe a bit more space as he had a full bak with the pace, energy & enthusiasm to support him whilst we were attacking.

Shaun Cummings was the worst right-back he had ever seen

Hmmm, when was the last RFC player you slated, only to be proved wrong?

Me? none...

Shane Long - a couple of seasons ago I'd groan when I'd see him on the team sheet ...

Ian Harte, Andy Griffin and Stephen Hunt.

On the other hand, I was seriously excited by Emerse Fae, Scott Murray and Scott Golbourne.
