66:47 Substitution (Barnet) makes a substitution, with Cedric Baseya coming on for Mark Marshall.

75:47 Tony Diagne concedes a free kick for a foul on Izale McLeod. Mark Byrne crosses the ball, Cedric Baseya produces a header from the edge of the box and misses to the right of the goal.

NINE minutes on the pitch and STILL not scored a goal!!!!

Bit average when he came on apparently, but their fans seem to really rate Hector.

Tbf people like to cling on to club spin and use it as a security blanket against the harsh cold reality.

Harsh cold reality?

It's football

Tongue in cheek, old son, which most of my input on this site tends to be - wild exagerration hammers home the point anyway. Next time I'll help you with one of these: :P

so everything you say, you don't actually REALLY mean? ie it's all shit. Thought so.

Yeah sounds as if he's doing really well, especially as they've got three 20 year old loanees in their defence so it can't have been that easy to settle in. I wonder if he'll stay their until January and then see if he can go out to a league 1 team.

Opinion mixed on the Barnet forums - some seem to think he's nothing special, one guy talked about lovely through balls while "turning on a sixpence"....

After his first game, Sanchez compared him to a 'young Rio'.

Sounds promising.

Low risk signing. Was also a low talent signing.

I'm sure we'll all remember him for his performance against the University of Reading in which he scored 2 goals

It's been too happy on here recently. Reading back through this is more like it.

'Judge him when you've seen him play' Difficult one that.

I'd never mock the likes of Baseya. Reading have often speculated on unlikely and unknown players in recent times, and we benefit enormously when the occasional one, such as Long, pays off. It's in the nature of such speculations that there's a high failure rate, but, overall, there's been a high profit margin from the successes.

It reminds me of my gardening. One packet of perennial seeds is very cheap, and very few, for various reasons, make it through to become established plants in my garden; but each one of those successes would cost five times the price of the whole packet of seeds to buy as a mature plant.
