Karacan

Not in the team again today or on the bench, why?

Regular last season, better than the rest this season. Has something happened behind the scenes?

Better than the rest this season? What matches have you been watching. I have long been saying that he has all the necessary attributes to make it as a top player except for one thing - his passing is just not up to scratch. He can't pick a pass hence why he either hits aimless passes forward or passes back to the keeper.

The simple fact is we only need either Ledge OR Karacan in the side, and Ledge is the better player.

Tabb got given a go and we won so starts again, Karacan would be a complete waste of a bench spot.

But not bad enough to be left out of a winning team.

In answer to the first question I've watched over half the games

To me Jem was better than ledge in alot of them. Don't think Ledge has been anywhere near as good as he was last season

We can only have Jem or Ledge in the team and this season there hasn't been much between them in my opinion. Since the number of subs was reduced its more of a balancing act. For example Bryn can cover at RB, CB or midfield where as Jem could obviously play CM or RB.

He's too similar to Tabb. If you drop Leigertwood then Tabb has to come in and partner Jem which means you're liable to be bullied more often than not because of their lack of presence. His passing has actually improved quite a bit and it's important to remember he's still quite young.

he's too simiilar to tabb and leigertwood. he'll get another chance but at the moment tabb deserves his and it's now up to him to earn the right to keep the shirt, as it is with leigertwood.

He isn't similar to Leigertwood in stature though.

He's played significantly better than Leigertwood who managed to get a grand total of about 4 passes to team mates in the first half of football against Doncaster. He's got more quality than Tabb too. If Legs was playing even half as well as he can he should be in the team ahead of Jem, but then Jem should be in ahead of Tabb, so if you're not going to play him and Legs it's Legs who should be missing out and Howard in.

This is totally the issue isn't it?

Nobody has a clue who out of our unfancied centre mids should be playing and why.

And here lies the very big problem!

It ought to be Legs and one of Karacan or Howard. Tabb's a bit of a lesser Karacan really.

Unfortunately Jem doesn't quite have the passing range or creativity to play alongside Legs when we need a bit more threat through the middle. And Legs is playing very poorly at the moment.

Howard will lose possession a bit and give away some silly free kicks, but from the looks of them he'll also feed Le Fondre & Church with the sort of service they'll thrive on.

Jem did very little to warrant being dropped, so for me (against my ideal preferences) it's all change in central midfield for Karacan & Howard, with HRK coming in for Hunt on the wing. If we do that and play the same team for a while, I think we'll have a fairly tasty team. And dropping Legs might kick him into some sort of form, because right now he does look more Legsofwood than Legendwood.

And absolutely nothing to do with Legs probably being on a bigger wedge than Karacan.

Karacan is the escape goat for the time being his chance will come again.

Whatever the midfield selection more goals are needed from them.

This is the general problem with our current team.

It doesn't really matter which two central midfielders play. There are differences in physique but no significant difference in their quality and on current form they are all decent Championship players but no more. The same applies to our strike pairing and, judging solely on performances this season, I think the same applies to our three main wingers. No one is putting their hand up and making themselves undroppable.
