Just A Point

by KEBEISTHEGREATEST » 17 Oct 2011 19:11

Tomorrow during the Derby game can we please sing for more then the first 5 minutes...We all just go silent...Get the drummer to play even more...Then the away supporters wont say: You're support is f*** sh**, This is a sh** hole I wanna go home.

Lets get behind the boys.

URRZ.

Not seen that vid before, cheers! Subdued in there, wasn't it? I know John Madj always gets plenty of stick on here, but the old git always make me grin. How many foreign owners go down the dressing room before and after the game?

As for the rest of your post - pfffffffff.

Any fans singing that song at the Madejski have had a labotomy. The "this place is a shit hole" bit anyway.

That chant is terrible. I cringe when our own fans sing that and wish they hadn't bothered coming at all if they don't want to be there that much.

But seriously though I am in Y21 and really there are only two people who sing and they are to the right...About 40 seats along.

Does this game count as a 'derby' fixture? We don't seem to have any otherwise.

im as annoyed by lack of noise/singing as the next man(apart from the man who moaned i was too loud once)
but if the team arent doing owt on the pitch to encourage noise, they wont get none.
that said- last home game we were creating alot of half chances, working very hard, pushing forward at pace, and still the crowd were silent.
its frustrating, but im not sure whatyou can do. it gets pretty downheartening/embarrassing singing on your own in a whole block of silent fans

Perhaps we could have the words to songs shown on the big screen during the match or put them in the programme. I also think we should have a club anthem. A poll of some sort on the club website asking people to pick one maybe?

I don't laugh at a comic unless he's funny. I don't sing along with a band unless they are playing a great song. I'm not really into cheering a football team unless they are playing football.

Performers should expect to work for their praise.

either people are going to sing, or not. stuff like that just seems like enforced merriment, and will only alienate the real singy fans who will consider it sad.

Good point, kittymelon thing.

But I speck thats a 'hangover' from our string of boredom we've been dribbling out. Or maybe just a real hangover.
