Elm Park
Extended-Phenotype What the f/ck is happening to our club in January?

We'll either be top and signing Gylfi or we will be mid table and can't afford anyone else this year.

Here for Birmingham then? Or Barnsley? Or Burnley? Or Doncaster?

If we're really going for him it has to be one of those.

One8Seven1 John Percy has now removed his tweet.

Guess that's a good way to look as if your tweets are reliable - just delete the crap ones!

Interesting reading the reporters comments "The deal is not yet complete, but the Championship club are understood to be keen to secure Sharp in time for him to play at Derby tomorrow"

I guess we'll know by 11pm.

The video on Player shows the bus leaving for Derby.

How uncommon is it for a player to sign for a club and play the next afternoon without even meeting the players/training with them?

Apparently if it's done by midday tomorrow he can play. FWIW, BBC south today just reported that the deal is close

Sure it happens. He'll be travelling down from Southampton anyway, so makes sense to meet in Derby.

Not sure what 11pm has got to do with it. May wait another week for this one.

Been caught twice with 2 keepers signing very late before a game and not knowing anything about it until being stood on the terraces. Eric Nixon and Paul Barron. These days though with the incessant media coverage it's less likely to occur but perhaps not impossible...

I was always under the impression that a player signed on loan had to have his paperwork completed and sent to the FA by 11pm the previous day in order to play.

Then again, I could be wrong?

its all well and good saying he can sign before the derby game and stuff but more importantly is he actually going to sign rather than talk about the timing of loans before a game

is he signing yes or no and if he is, how reliable is the source?

I'd be more excited by this if he were 6 inches taller. I know we've had some good diminuitive strikers in the past, and even now, but I'd quite like someone who could challenge a centre half for the ball.
