1978, Doncaster, won 3-0, I recall (perhaps incorrectly) that Richie Bowman was playing. I didn't go again for a few years.

marcusopp the 1993/94 3rd kit, red and yellow hoops, black shorts, red and yellow socks....lovely!

It was awesome, Roy Of The Rovers.

As worn by Keith McPherson, Michael Gilkes and Dylan Kerr.

Tranmere in 1994, i think we got spanked. My old mans first game was back during the war though he cant remember any of the details. Funny story he told me recently about my grandad on his wedding day back in the 1920's, got married at 12:00 and then left his new bride at home in tears so he could go to the game at 15.00 . Top man 8)

07/03/1998 Reading 0-3 Port Vale

Got to go on the pitch afterwards which was nice, got my photo taken in the goal mouth.
Was a bit young to understand why we were on there and thought it was what happened at the end of every match.
This turned out not to be true.

The first game I have any recollection of as a little kid definitely involved Pierre Van Hooijdonk at Elm Park so it must have been that one.

2006. Can't remember my first game exactly, but the first game I remember was the 5-0 thrashing of Derby with the epic pitch invasion. I wasn't really into football before this time, so I didn't start supporting a team until I fell in love with Reading.

The miners strike game skived off school to watch this one, only a couple of turnstiles open with the queues to get in were very long.

95 or 96 when we played Wolves in the Coca Cola Cup. Mark McGhee was Wolves manager and got a hard time! We won 4-2. I was sat on the rafters of the southbank roof!

stickywhisky Vs Bury League cup game in 1995 at Elm Park, I went to the replay after the original game was abandoned after 30 mins or so with Reading 2-0 up, started the replay at 0-0!

Surely the wrong way round. The original was abandoned with Bury 2-0 up? It certainly was for me, I seem to recall Phil Stant scoring the second just before the ref decided it was too wet to continue. Having driven up from Yeovil in the rain (having checked before I left that the weather in Reading was ok - it was awful in Somerset and must have followed us up the 303) we arrived about 10 - 15 mins late, got into the ground and watched about 5 mins of footy before being despatched home in the rain.

Anyway, back to the original purpose. My first game was v Brentford in the 60/61 season. Hooked from that day forward.

Donny seems to be a common side for people's first fixture.

Home to Doncaster, December 1971, sat in the Norfolk Road stand, Tilehurst Road end. Won 3-1 and I believe Dick Habbin was the first player I saw score for Reading.

First away fixture, night game at Aldershot, season 77-78. Drew 1-1

Reading 1-0 Bristol City in October 1994. Pretty dull game, but then Michael Gilkes popped up to score a last minute winner. Everyone jumped up to celebrate and from that moment on I was hooked for life. The season ended with the Wembley play off heartache, which obviously prepared me well for what was to come...
