Wigan (a) Predictions

by Royalclapper » 22 Nov 2012 11:20

The first of two crucial fixtures in the space of a few days for RFC. Tricky one to predict as the latics have one of the most cunning of all cunning devils in football management - Roberto Martinez. Going to stay positive following last weeks 3 points:

Wigan Athletic 1-2 Reading

I would like 4 points from the next two. What I would like and what is likely to happen are two different things though!

I am going to stick my neck out and say a late goal gives a 1-0 victory on Saturday and we get a draw at Villa. Here's hoping anyway.

Wigan at Home

0-2 Chelsea
2-2 Stoke
1-2 Fulham
2-2 Everton
2-1 West Ham
1-2 West Brom

They look very competitive at home and if we manage a point that will be a job well done

Competitive? They've lost half their home games, conceded 2 in all but one of them and won once

0-2

I'm going for 1-1, Jason Roberts to break his scoring duck the season and get our goal against his old team. We concede late on to an Emerson Boyce header.

Sneaky 1-0 win to us after a shit performance. Morrison from a corner. We get away with murder and get lucky.

Quite. Snowball showing yet again how he is happy to purposely misinterpret stats when they don't agree with his general point.

Anyway, we've always seemed to struggle against Martinez sides. I think this is a pretty much guarnateed home win.

I'm feeling very positive about this one.

If we can stop Kone and break up play in the middle we will win.

I think our width should get us the win!

2-1 Reading. Roberts, Alf, Kone!

I think you should be fairly safe there
What will you do if just one of them scores?

Wigan 2-1 le Fondre (pen)

Despite beating Everton, we still got shat on in the first half and scored from 2 set pieces. Not sure where this optimism has come from.

Back down to earth this weekend.
