This is completely baffling.

Karacan is injury prone so hopefully all of a sudden Guthrie suits our style of football, otherwise we may have a midfield of Leigertwood and Akpan.

And Carrico.

Makes sense given that we've just signed two CMs. Gotta feel for the bloke though.

EDIT: I was replying to Leics, obvs

Just saw this too. Not good enough for championship, but then in prem team and now told he can leave.

Not our greatest player, but he will run all game and for peanut wages in comparison to others.

Is carrico or Kelly going to sit in midfield? Or has BM got his eyes another signing to bolster our already fragile midfield.

I think it had been on the cards. He's a work horse but not premiership standard.

Odd not to just keep him on as cover but its a show of faith to the new signings. They know they are right in the mix of it now and will have to deliver.

Carrico, Akpan, Guthrie, Karacan, Leigertwood. That's five players competing for three places (potentially even two)

Akpan has never played above league one and Caricco has hardly played this season and when he played in our reserve game it looked like he had a bed sheet wrapped round his knee for strapping.

I am sort of hoping that if we are letting Tabb go we have an attacking midfielder already lined up.

A massive shame for a top lad who's not played badly this season, can't ever fault the bloke for work rate and desire, unfortunately you can on his overall ability. Seems quite disrespectful to spread this out to the media publicly too.

Tabby is worth two Leigertwood's. They've got this the wrong way around IMO. Both are Championship midfielders though.

that would be preferable. we could use the money we get from tabb to help fund a new am.

I don't suppose it was the club who leaked it, to be fair.

I wouldn't get too carried away just yet as Sky Sports have a knack for talking bollocks. Happily to be proved wrong but have got to know their & the Sun's antics the last few years.

Seems a bit of a silly move, he might not start every week but we need him in the squad. However, I take this back if

a) It turns out Jay Tabb asked to be allowed to leave for whatever reason.
b) We are imminently going to sign another midfielder.

I know we'll have five midfielders but we don't want to be in a position where we can't drop Leigertwood if he doesn't pick up form and I wouldn't be putting faith in Akpan's ability at this level just yet - he might make it but it's certainly a gamble!

I hope this is bullshit. He has been our best player on the pitch on more than one occasion this season. :|
