Maguire
RobRoyal I'm sure that the Pro-zone analysts that are employed by Premier League clubs have subtler measures, like "chance created" or somesuch, but the idea that statistical analysis is just for American sports is a bit backward, Mags.

That's not what I said Robert. I said "assists" are for Fantasy Football or US sports fans - you admit yourself that proper analysis has rather subtler measures than a few bumtards on the interpipe arguing about whether a pass is an assist or not.

Fair enough, I'm in agreement.

Have never been a fan of "assists".

Seemed to be the sole justification for keeping the disabled popstar David Beckham in the England side for 10 years longer than deserved.

Was about to LOLz at this but you're possibly right tbf don't know much about what he did after he left Utd

Was great in this midfield

Giggs - Scholes - Keane - Beckham

Caught a couple of old Utd matches over xmas on ESPN and was surprised by the level of skill he actually had on the ball. Incredible workrate and amazing crossing

Aye, he was great at United. Was drifting in merit towards the end, Fergie sold him on and he was fairly cack after that. Can’t fault his passing, but he became incredibly slow, a bad decision maker and lost England far too much possession.

I like the guy for some reason, but he never had a good tournament for us and his stardom kept him in the national team.

Not really, his work r8 and ability kept him in and around the team and quite simply there was no-one better to replace him. After he left United he played 116 games for Real Madrid and 29 times for AC Milan over two loan periods. Not really too bad is it.

David Beckham was superb for England - on & off the pitch.

In fact he's probably the last player of the modern era that actually gave a toss about representing his country. Sad times.

Shame on you all!

What the Real Madrid who stopped winning the title when David arrived?
