Brian McDermott has left?

by Webster750 » 11 Mar 2013 16:58

Rumours that he has left/been sacked as bookies suspend bets.

If this proves accurate, then this is an absolute oxf*rd shambles.
I will, for the first time in my life, be ASHAMED to be associated with this football club.
It would show a complete lack of respect, and a complete lack of football knowledge - as the supporters who have been calling for this for a while, have also shown.

I suppose that given that we're likely to be relegated, that we should seek someone with proven experience of getting teams promoted from the Championship on a shoestring budget, of overcoming the odds, and delivering the impossible. Who does that sound like? That's right - the person you're all talking about sacking. oxf*rd morons.

Bookies suspend bets all the time with no substance. Just means mans have been lumping on after hearing a rumour that could have come from anywhere.

Wasn't he clear favourite for the Wolves job last season, with all bookies?!

I hope he hasn't left as I would at least like for him to see out the season and see where we are then. I can't see a new manager making any difference for this season at all.

Indeed. But it's not just a troll thread.

Unless the OP has put a load of money on McDermott to go just to get a 25 pager, in which case: bravo.

What if he has decided to walk....? What's to be ashamed about then? If he has decided to leave as he feels that it is best for him and the club then you have to respect the man surely?

Yep. And betting was suspended for that, too.

Unless they have someone to literally walk in and take his place what is the point? We are down, everyone is pretty certain of that there is no merit in sacking Brian mid-season, If he is to go (not my personal choice) do it in the summer when everyone has clear heads and can look at the situation objectively

After losing two massive home games in a row, 16/1 or whatever it was, may have looked like good value. A couple of people lump on, suddenly the odds get slashed. Other people notice the odds being slashed and put two and two together, so also decide to lump on at the smaller price. Suddenly it's snowballed and the bookies have suspended betting to cover themselves.

Unless the person they want is currently available (ie Adkins) and may not be in the summer!?
