Don't think so.

That's five yellows for the whole season and the slate was wiped clean at the turn of the year.

jellytot Where was the decent performance from the team when it mattered? If you cannot put in a display at old Trafford you should retire!

We had 48% posession. Are you deliberately trying to annoy me?

So why do the pillocks at ESPN count the ones that were wiped clean?

Thought that was quite interesting today. We were actually passing the ball around, although I do feel that was partly because Man U were standing off us and waiting to see what we had without pushing it too much. Dangerous game for them to play really as with a bit of luck we could have scored, certainly the penalty should have been given. You do wonder whether McD was telling the players to get rid of the ball rather than pass it around.

McLeary was interesting, thought he looked good, dangerous at times. You do feel that he may have been under used by Brian but where would he have fitted into the team with Kebe playing so well and McAnuff nailed on the teamsheet?

Taylor doesn't look like the mug people were predicting either. That team today are a top six team in the championship, so onwards, downwards, and then upwards.

ESPN = MUTV - they went for a break promising "the view from both dressing rooms".

Instead we were treated to Wayne "Illiterate" Rooney saying "erm" a lot and Fergie being his usual "If I win, I'll give credit to the other team, else not" self.

Ref was an utter disgrace.

My two pennies worth, I was well proud of the entire team. There was a bit more 'umpfh' in us today. Yes, it's the first game without McD, but so far...so good. Play like we did today and no way would we be 19th

Thing is, it's actually easier to play relatively well away at the league leaders, as there is no pressure on you.

You could see the players were relaxed today, but Man Utd's gulf in class showed in the way that we never troubled them except a single 20 yard effort.

We need to bring this composure to games of higher pressure if we are to finish the season respectively. This must be the target, so that if we come back up we are better equipped to control the ball like we did today in high stakes games.

yep. its not the performance level im pleased with today, its the way we played the game. showed these players are capable of better than what weve been served recently.

we'll be very successful playing this system in the championship if we keep the right players.

Utd didn't try - they knew we wouldn't threaten and they have the title secured

The bookings up to now aren't wiped clean. You currently require 10 cautions across the whole season to pick up a 2 match suspension. I think that changes to 15 games and 3 matches come around mid April?

Taylor doesn't look like the mug people were predicting either. That team today are a top six team in the championship, so onwards, downwards, and then upwards.

There were a few times when players clearly went to look for the direct ball and you could see Dolan shouting and pointing for them to play a shorter pass sideways or backwards. And they did it. And we looked not too bad at it.

It seems clear that McDermott and Gibbs wanted us playing direct football, getting the ball forward to wingers and strikers as quickly as possible with everyone just running forwards and spending as little time as we could with possession in our own half.

As posted on the SPOTTED thread,

Hal Robson Kanu was in the M6 services after the game with a bloke (presumably his driver) but none of the rest of the team were there.

Wonder why he didn't travel with the rest of the team :?

Agreed about much better posession, however 1 shot on target all game was not that impressive.o

Above all, we shuld not look to measure ourselves against the top teams in the divison. They have players on their squads that don't even make the bench we can only dream of signing. It will be the same with Arsenal, players will raise their game and ill probably give a good account of themselves but still lose the game.

I canlt get too optimistic about this performance. In the games that have mattered, we have simpy failed to produce. canlt see that changing anytime soon.
