Nameless THere was Morrison block which perhaps came off his arm but it was a fierce shot and his arm was in a natural position.
He gave a few really soft free kicks but overall thought any criticism pretty minor and not game changing.

Yeah, that.

Yeah, that.

Pen imo. Hit his left arm which looked outstretched.

Confused me that none of the commentators or anyone on the forums mentioned it was outside the box, so penalty debate a bit pointless.

Only had a brief look but it looks like he's turned side on to the ball with his arm by his side. Couple of Huddersfield players went mental appalling though.

Only saw it the once in real time, but that's what I thought too. Uh oh, it's a penalty... oh, ok. Phew

We should've had a free kick in the build up anyway, as one of their players clearly handballed it on the left hand side before it went out for a corner.

Yes, right arm by his side tucked in.
But it hit his left arm which was outstretched at 90 degrees to his body and was inside the box.

Damn yeah it definitely hits his outstretched hand inside the area, we were lucky with that one. No wonder the Huddersfield players were appealing it so strongly.

At a guess he was doing his job and looking at the defensive line about 12 yards from where Morrison was to see whether any of the forwards were offside at the moment the ball was struck. It’s not his job to watch for handballs on the edge of the area in situations like that.

In the box, arm out to his side. We got away with one there, makes a nice change, don't it? Perhaps things do even themselves out during the course of a season, after all.

Fair enough after watching it back a few times. Thought it hit his right elbow in real time, guess the ref did too

Wow. Much more blatant then it looked in real time. But as I said in the match thread this is a bad quirk of the game. With VAR you could just blast the ball at players then appeal for handball constantly. Skilled players like Ovie and Joao could also game the system by flicking the ball up into players hands.

Perhaps that should become a deliberate tactic to practice during training. Once the authorities cotton in to it then there’ll be even more ludicrous adjustments to the world of handball.

To be fair to the authorities there is no perfect handball law. But teams definitely should be taking the piss with VAR. Drilling crosses instead of floating them, pot shots from outside the box aimed at players instead of the goal, free kicks into the wall instead of over it. You get the idea.
