He has been in-and-around the coaching set-up for both the first team and youth team for a little bit now, so not that much of a shock.

Club legend as well, who can hopefully inspire the new players coming through the academy and teach them what it means to be a Reading player.

Maybe have different expectations, but I wouldn't expect anything for an away game on the same day as a first team game.

I just assume they're all involved in covering the first team. Having said that, think I've been disappointed when they haven't covered a game at the Mad Stad when the first team have been away.

I've posted U23 updates on this thread before so it's nice to see someone else doing it, especially as you often post from the games.

Have a look on the RFC website on the U23 and U18 fixtures page(all fixtures) and see how many match reports are missing( live match centre still showing are the ones). No excuse whatsoever for the pathetic reporting of the academy- which hopefully is a major part of the future of the club.

Barrett doesn’t seem to be doing great in the reserves. As people have mentioned before, Olise seems to be doing well, maybe he should be in and around the first team squad, particularly with Swift/Ejaria out

2 big matches in the space of 5 days at the Madjeski stadium. 1st up on Thursday 12th December is the U 18`s FA youth cup 3rd round tie against Crystal Palace U18`s KO 7pm.
This is followed on Monday December 16th by the U23`s Premier league 2 Div 2 match against Man Utd also with a 7pm KO
Like to think 2 big crowds(bigger than normal !)will be in attendance.

few highlights from the Newcastle game

https://www.nufc.co.uk/nufc-tv/u23s/rea ... hts-19-20/

good goal by Olise. Dare I say the sort of attacking play sorely missed at the Madejski on Saturday

Pitch looks like some non league relic from the 70s.

Yep, very good goal.

Could've done with a bit of that attacking play, but I think one of the Birmingham players would've put their foot in before he could get a shot away.

Shocking defending for the good Newcastle attempt that hit the post and then a terrible shot with the follow-up.

Also, the ref wearing black surely is a clash?
