Great day for the club today with the U18`s beating Aston Villa 5-2 at Bearwood this morning. Nyarko scored a hat trick with 15 year old Princewill Ehibhatiomhan and Greaver getting the others

Well done boys. You got the info on here. A bit disappointing losing 3-1. Thought we might have got back into this.

No Samuels means we’re another centre back option down

Apparently Louie Holzman is only 17, as is Kelvin Abrefa, so two of the back three were U18s. If Stickland has to play against Derby then Holzman probably makes the bench

Must have been a fantastic match at Bearwood this morning. Royals U 18`s drew 3-3 with Crystal Palace U18`s.
Palace were 2 up before Kanu pulled one back on 67 mins, with Princewell Ehibhatiomhan equalising on 84 mins
Royals must have thought they had won it when Okine-Peters scored on 90+6 only for Palace to equalise on 90+7 !!!!

...popped down there tonight as I have the week off ...

Thought they defended stoutly and looked lively coming forward if occasionally prone to choose the wrong options.

Equaliser for Brum was a long time coming but seemed inevitable as they continually pressed 2nd half.
Unfortunate that it seemed to stem from a bit of overplaying around the edge of our own box.

I know it's carbon-unfriendly but would have quite liked a team sheet even a line-up on the big screen would have been something - maybe I missed it?

So can't match names to numbers sorry but 3,6 & 11 stood out for us and the tall no 9 looked promising but should have buried a header from close range early 2nd half.

....and KAEOOTB but tried a quick tour round afterwards for any likely re-fuelling spots .... as I'm getting a bit low for any potential trips out tomorrow - absolutely f£ck all! .... BP Whitley, ASDA, Morrisons, 'Murco' as was opposite RBH v.close to home....

The only petrol station open in the immediate area was the Shell up on Shinfield Rise .... and they only had diesel.

In contrast the petrol stations I passed (A33, Berkeley Avenue & Tilehurst Road) on the way home all appeared to be open & serving, although with a full tank I did not stop to investigate.

Agree about team sheets. They used to do them before COVID but I think they must have decided it was uneconomical. The scoreboard seems like a good compromise.

I actually have a lot of trouble distinguishing between the numbers on the current shirts but I believe 5 was Michael Stickland, 3 was Ethan Bristow and 11 was Memadi Camara. Camara would have been my MOTM.

The striker was Kelvin Ehibhationham. Agree that he looked good (best I’ve seen him play, very good work for the goal) but I think he has the same issue that a lot of big young strikers do - he’s just not nearly as good in the air as you would have expected 10-15 years ago. You even see it with Joao.

Not at all helpful in the immediate crisis but I’m hoping the fuel shortage encourages more people to make their next car electric.

Classic game of 2 halves last night. Birmingham were a much bigger (older ?) team and first half we looked significantly better technically, quicker and more alert. Played some nice stuff. Second half we tired and they took more control. I think they had at least 1 senior player involved (their 10).
We don’t have a standout individual like we have had in previous years (Olise, Loader, Barrett) but quite a lot of very decent youngsters. Camara, Tallent and Osario are all good players and also combine well. Ehib(.....) is interesting in that he obviously has ability but looks better when dropping deeper and playing football, despite his size he really isn’t that physical or a real target man. The centre backs look very much in the Reading mold of being modern, footballing centre backs rather than big lumps.
Agree that having basic info on team lineups for the game would be nice. How hard can it be to put the team up on the big screen ?
