Hendo
Shocking defending for the good Newcastle attempt that hit the post and then a terrible shot with the follow-up.

yep that was awful defending

Royals and Racers Teams in last 8 are Chelsea, Reading, Norwich, Man City, Newcastle, Brighton and the 2 best runners up which can`t be decided until the final group match is played on Tuesday.

Stoke and Everton i think will complete the QF`s as best 2nd finishers- QF`s are just 1 match.
Amazingly all of the Royal`s 3 group matches were 4-3( 2 wins 1 loss) !!
Last Saturday`s match at Middlesborough saw the home team lead 3-0 before Hewitt, McGiff, Hamilton and Anderson scored 4 in the last 18 minutes.
As expected the fantastic Reading FC publicity machine have yet to mention we have qualified for the QF`s or a report on the website yet (or social media) but as it`s only Tuesday and the match was Saturday lunchtime i suppose we shouldn`t expect anything else.

Now Friday and still nothing from RFC about Saturday’s win at Middlesborough and the qualification for the QF’s.

Reading play at home to Everton in the QF’s which will be played in January- Blimey they have put the draw and a sort of report on the website from the Middlesborough match played 2 weeks ago !!!

The defending in general was terrible from us on those highlights.

Well that was a wide open chance that was always going to result in a goal.

Remind me, is this the first team or U18s?

Finished 2-4. I am surprised how poor that performance was. Palace were better in all departments and it looked as though there was a gulf in class in their favour. Very surprising and disappointing considering their relatively lowly position in the Under 18 league system.

There does seem to be somewhat of a malaise at Reading football club at all levels this season. Very odd.

Didn’t watch and haven’t been following that closely but there are a few that seem to have stalled a bit

Thinking Pendlebury, Nolan and Lawless particularly. Any truth in that?

From what i have seen Lawless is the best prospect of the 3 mentioned. He has been injured this season and has only just come back. Very left footed(like East).

Next up for the U23’s is a home Premier league 2 Div 2 match on Monday December 16th KO 7pm against Man Utd being played at the Madejski stadium.
The match will be shown live on MUFC TV so there might be streams available.
This will be a big test for the Royals U 23’s as Man Utd lie 2nd in the table P 12 W 10 D 1 L 1

Nolan has also been out injured for most of the season.

I love watching Lawless, he’s got real grace on the ball. Not sure he has all the attributes to make it as a pro but right now I don’t care.
