Madejski comments on club ownership

Decent interview with SJM by Dellor after the match today... a brief summary:

- Always on the look for new investors and sounds like something is on the horizon
- Anton still the owner "as such" and he doesn't know when he'll be back
- Confident Anton is committed to RFC and that there is no big problem
- There should be funds in January, whether it is Anton's or Sir John's

Reading between the lines Madejski does sound a little uncertain but optimistic, definitely not the shambles some nobbers are making out. We're looking for new investment but I doubt it will mean a change of ownership of the club.

I think we bed some perspective too (as always). Other teams are in a far worse position. I wonder what people's comments would be like on here if we were really in the sh*t.

What's happening here is not about Reading - it's part of a wider endemic issue with modern football where overseas investors are now the norm and things don't always work out. Everyone wants to be top dog and a) it's not possible and b) it's not sustainable. I don't particularly like what football has become sometimes, but that's the way it is. All of this is separate to of course keeping a check on how the club is being run. I'm not advocating an approach where we get behind the club blindly - I am suggesting we respond and react proportionately.

Don't want to stoke the fires but when coming into the concourse on the TV they were following several faces around the directors box I didn't recognise before finding Samuelson, leading Madejski round the directors box, it ended with Madejski having his photo taken with a man of middle eastern descent and his young son.
