Brum Royal The ref's pacing of freekicks seemed very variable. I think one of the freekicks we had in the first half (the second with the vanishing spray in front of the East Stand) looked a good 12 yards and took 11 paces, whereas one in the second half seemed to be only 7 paces. Very odd.

I agree. I counted one pacing of 7 steps and one of 8 steps in the second half. The ref wasn't very tall either so his paces were no longer than average!

I thought Guthrie did alright when he came on too.

Looked up to the pace of the game and didn't create any issues defensively. With Jem back (great news obviously) the competition for places in the middle of the park is heating up.
