Hal-Robson Kanu

by Rollerbob » 12 Jan 2015 11:51

Interested to hear your thoughts on this one....

Does anybody rate him? Another absolute shocker on Saturday.. Surely Clarke and the management can see how dire he really is..? :x

How he gets anywhere near the starting 11 is beyond me... Absolute waste of space. Can't cross, can't beat a man, looks unfit, so slow, terrible first touch..... the list goes on and on..

He also has the biggest/fattest arse I've ever seen.. so there's that.

Ugh, just can't understand why he's in the team. Slagging him off because (to me at least) he is by far our weakest player.

Wouldn't have a problem if he wasn't one of our top earners. Get rid ASAP.

Who would you have played instead of him, Rollerbob?

He always does well for wales when he appears, so I wonder whether it is just finding the right manager to get the best out of him. don't get me wrong i'm not his biggest fan, He may just need a run in the first team to find his potential and position.

Yeah, he's incredibly poor VFM along with Guthrie, Pogrebnyak, and Drenthe.

Pepe the Horseman Who would you have played instead of him, Rollerbob?

I'd have Blackman, McCleary, Mackie, Taylor... even Drenthe - I realise some of which would have to play on the opposite wings to what they are used to.

Blackman is shit, and our only striker, other than Pog.
Mackie was already playing.
McCleary is injured.
Taylor is shit.
Drenthe is banned from playing.

Ah, thought you meant who would I play instead overall - but I'll give you my answer for Saturday..

Blackman is better than Kanu. Much better at dribbling, much bigger threat going forward. Would have started him.
Mackie was playing already, and McCleary was out - Drenthe couldn't play, correct correct correct.

Taylor isn't great, but he's not been given a chance by Clarke yet. I'd have had him on the bench instead of HRK.

I'd agree with Pepe really.

I'm not really a fan of his but at the moment Robson-Kanu is the only natural left winger we have. Taylor did a reasonably job out there at times earlier in the season but I'm not sue I'd see him as an improvement from an attacking sense.

Left wing is certainly a position we need to strengthen if we can.

This is the only explanation I can believe as to why he is in the team. Nobody else. Think LM must be a priority this month.

He had a good game on Saturday after playing well against Norwich as well and setting up Blackman in the cup. He is just coming back to something approaching decent form. Why still get on his back?

He is not our best player, but he is OK.

Ok, but either he is, or he isn't.

Going forward he's pretty average, but the rest of his game is appalling, he looks so unfit , twice on Saturday after running back to cover his midfield opponent he was puffing and looked absolutely knackered. Also he doesn't seem to read their attacks and therefore gets bypassed most of the time, putting pressure on the defence

Couldn't agree more. I'm surprised the majority are defending him.

Said after the Brighton away game that if HRK was a racing horse, you'd put him down - and I stand by that. He looks absolutely shot to pieces, not even half the player he was 3 years ago.

Agree 100% . He is awful compared to what he was.

He's got all thw physical attributes to be very good. I just don't thin he's got what he needs emotionally or mentally to put it together. Unless he's taking a pen.

I don't think either is a good option, but I'd be looking at Blackman or Taylor ahead of him. Certainly Mackie when McCleary is fit. Or Obita if we get a good left back, though he's far from ideal too.

He made a very good pass at one point in first half on Saturday and also made the pass for the goal in the cup - but other than that I agree that he was totally average and, actually, pretty non-existent. Only reason he doesn't get subbed more I think is that managers probably forget he's on the pitch .... :D
