Things to enjoy when watching Reading FC

by PeterReadingborn59 » 14 May 2015 10:41

With such a disappointing season now over, let's look forward and remember those things that make following a home club like Reading worth the season ticket.
1. The prospect of celebrating a win.
2. The bonding with others, following the team gives shared interest.
3. Potential to get promotion.
4, A cup run, even in a poor season going to Wembley is life memory.
5. Banter between supporters and then walking away with no ill feeling between teams supporters.
6. Wearing the shirt!
7. Getting out for an afternoon or evening for fresh air.
8. Picking a better team.
9. Seeing home players progress.
10 . Review referee decisions.
11. See Bill Oddie.
12. Reading fans.

Been excellent this last season, at games I've been able to catch up on lot of emails and keep up to date on various apps, games and software updates all without any risk of missing something good happening on the pitch. Also at last being able to go to home games with no chance of goal music being played has been particularly pleasurable.

I just enjoy going to watch football in general, even if it's a shit game.

Beats walking round the Oracle all day.

When watching them away.... Everything

When watching them at home:

Having a few beers before the game and now, with Good Old Boy, I enjoy a half time beer.
Racing the Nags Head bus back to the Nags via Taxi to beat the rush and get a beer before the late kick off starts.
Getting excited about a new player - Mass Sarr / Drenthe etc (no matter how terrible they end up being, I will get excited next time too)
Seeing an exciting player from the youth play.
Getting some sun in the East stand.
Seeing the old lady with the old school wireless radio listening for full time scored when all she needs to do is look up at the screen.

Having a slim chance to see a truly memorable team goal or individual goal. We all remember those (as they are few and far between) but shockers or howlers less so. This season will be confined to the same store cupboard as previous terrible seasons (TB1/2). But we look back fondly at the great seasons.

Seeing mates (only chance to get out these days!)

Away game atmosphere

Staying in mad stad hotel once a season, after a match with all the benefits that brings, incl parking, easy access bar and great brekkie

Guessing ages/IQ/job roles/location of Hob Nobbers. OK, so maybe that's just a curious hobby* of my own.

* would that be known as "hobby nobby" on here? No? Oh, OK. That's something else then,

Not having to read the usual drivel on the message board during the game.

Pre-game entertainment.

You've got B&Q, Smyths Toys, TK Maxx, Pc World, Oak Furniture Land, Poundland, KFC, Pizza Hut, McDonalds. Amazing.

I'd have thought that someone with your mental age would enjoy a toy shop.
