I can certainly vouch for an appalling 1-5 at Millmoor (under Pardew?), with us having arrived 15 minutes late to the game.

Looking at the HNA match archive. We've lost our last three visits to Rotherham, drawn the one before that and our only win was back in 2000, so 1 win in 5 up there since (HNA) records began.

Oh the comments on that match report, if only they had known what was to come!

It would be great to get ourselves into such a position by the Brighton game that beating them would send us top.

TBF football fans are by nature a reactive bunch and nobody saw the 2006 promotion coming from two years out

Can't think where else to add it. So here are some crap, rudimentary stats I've thrown together.

11 games played now in the Championship. The average current league position of teams played are as follows;

Brighton 14.54
Reading 11.82
Boro 15
Birmingham 13.27
Burnley 13.82
Derby 13.09
Hull 12.90
Cardiff 14.09
Sheffield Wednesday 13.09
Ipswich 12.09
Wolves 13.18
QPR 14.18
Fulham 11.46
Forest 12.73
Blackburn 12.64
MK Dons 13
Huddersfield 12.27
Leeds 8.73
Brentford 11.18
Charlton 11.64
Bristol City 11.73
Preston 12.09
Rotherham 12.18
Bolton 9.91

The average league position to have played would be 12.53, anything less than that is a harder than average start, more - easier, against the league table as it stands today.

Based on that Leeds have had the hardest opposition to date, Reading 7th.
Boro then Brighton have had the easiest starts in the league.

The difference between Leeds and Boro's opposition in games played to date averages at 6.27 league positions. Tough start for Leeds.

If you took current points per game and averaged out the league table against opposition played it would look as follows;

1 Reading 2 Brighton 3 Birmingham 4 Derby 5 Burnley 6 Hull 7 Boro 8 Ipswich 9 Leeds 10 Sheffield Wednesday 11 Cardiff 12 Wolves 13 Fulham 14 QPR 15 Brentford 16 Forest 17 Bristol City 18 Huddersfield 19 Blackburn Rovers 20 Charlton 21 MK Dons 22 Bolton 23 Preston 24 Rotherham

It doesn't mean much, but suggests that we're value for where we are.
