I made a comment about this at the start of the game as if he was fit enough to be on the bench imho he's fit enough to start. I thought after Huddersfield he wouldn't be included in the squad, but once I saw that he was, I was really dissappinted that we didn't go 4-3-3 when we had 3 available CMs.

We had 4 strikers on the pitch for almost 30 minutes and couldn't score. I don't care what the stats say we were shit and have been shit for the last few games. No intensity or urgency until the last 10 mins.

Hector must be dropped.

It's all a bit muddled; poor passes, mediocre movement, too many touches, and as you said just not enough urgency or intensity. Build up is far too slow.

A lot of that will be confidence which is obviously going to be relatively low at the moment, it's not going to help having so many inconsistencies and changes in the team.

Whilst the injuries have affected us it's not an excuse for me. I think we still have enough quality in remaining players to be able to perform better and get better results than we have done recently.

Look on the bright side, at least we're not going to have to splash out £10 Million on Vydra!

Can we remember their keeper made 6 world class saves? We were crap but if just 2 had gone in it wouldn't be so gloomy.

We played 1-4-2-3-1 today. Not sure why people think we play 442 as we quite obviously don't. No right winger killed us numerous times during the game as blackman had gone wondering central. Gunter had no outlet but to cut inside back to Fernandez. John is not good enough to start, we've already seen that in plenty of games where he has.

Ferdinand useless, again. To quote the girlfriend 'I don't think much of that Ferdinand bloke'

Oh and to top the day off some bloke reversed into my car in the car park at the end. :x

Pepe the Horseman Assumed he was injured. Didn't even realise he came on. Presumably he wasn't fit enough to start.

Or that he played awful against Huddersfield??

Hit the nail on the head I think. Difference between now and when we were doing well is the intensity and speed. Now we look slow in build up and are not closing down. First half against Fulham we did all those things, second half we didn't. Now we seem to have forgotten how to.

That was dreadful, completely awful.

Firstly Cardiff are a yet another poor team (so that's at least 3 in the last 5 games we've played and failed to win) and should have been beaten even with the players missing but down to the inability to defend set pieces we lost.

Yes Marshall had a blinder but that would not have mattered if this team played DIRECT passing football instead of reverting to the Adkins diet of crab football. The number of times the option to pass forward or to move forward into space was rejected for a nice safe backward/sideways pass was unbelievable. Someone needs to tell them if you don't gamble from time to time then you'll rarely get a coconut

Also getting really hacked off with the lack of proper wing play i.e. always cutting in or hitting crosses from well in front of the 18 yard line and the complete and utter ineptitude of our corners (any one remember the last goal we scored from a corner in the league?)

This better be sorted by the time Bolton roll into town as failing to win that is just NOT an option.

That would be the Hector who was dropped for Huddersfield and caused a meltdown on here when he was?

Ever since 2nd half fulham we have not looked the same. That result must have really affected the players confidence, up to Clarke to restore it

I think 'world class' might be distinctly over-egging the pudding.

.....yes, but he did make other " less-so world class" saves too.

All in all, it looked like a decent enough game

Regarding Liburd, he did ok, he didn't look out of place and if i remember correctly he did make one great piece of skill to lose his marker down the right but his cross back in was poor and straight at the keeper.
Maybe some more game time, if and when we are winning games would help his progress. Being around the first team should also assist his development.

Whether worldclass or not they were very very good and kept them in the game. And certainly way better than anything seen from AAH

Let's be honest, he's not exactly set the bench mark very high, has he?

The 2 saves he made from consecutive corners in the 2nd half were brilliant. The others anyone ( bar our 2 probably) would save.
We were oxf*rd awful. John a waste of space. Left 5 min early to beat the traffic and we were one of 4 cars out of 200 blocked in by double parking. Bloke blocking us in wandered out at 5.10. Nice finishing touch....
