Well, he wasn't Nigel Adkins was he?

I guess that means the new manager just needs to not be a treacherous pcunt to be an improvement on SC

No, he was worse, although you disagreed with that pretty vehemently for quite a while.

ROFL, still running the Adkins fan club Ian?

Didn't say Adkins did a good job here, don't really care now he's no longer with us. But it's a simple fact Clarke was worse. Lower percentage of games won, lower accrual of points per game. Course, neither were as bad as Rodgers.

AthleticoSpizz yes, but they may help stabilise the situation and cast-off some of our excesses.....hopefully redeveloping a squad that we can all enjoy watching once again.

Any "success" would be a bonus

For the most part we've got an excellent squad. We need some stability, it's not a major rebuild at this point. We probably won't go up this season, but that's not certain and we can easily put a good fight in for the play offs to build on next year.

Not Pearson.
Anyone could have done well with the budget Leicester had. It'll be like Adkins the return. Leicester have improved since they sacked him, it's all about the structure within the club. The stability is in the foundations, the manager is basically a front man with many duties done by others.
There are a great deal of candidates out there. I'd like a lower league manager who knows the league and can recruit bargains from leagues 1 and 2.

Stephen Hunt wanting the job with Coppell assistant manager / mentor, and Murty involved is an interesting proposition. Throw in Noel and Bryn and it gets my backing

The next Reading manager

@stephenhunt1010: I'd home alone 1/2 available on sky?

Dai Brainbocs How many of Pardew's 211 games were spent just undoing the damage Tommy Burns had done?

about 30

150 at least

It took ages to get rid of the likes of Robert Fleck and McIntyre was in the play-off final team.

The last summer he was manager we bought Scott Murray and were heading for automatic promotion with a squad of his choosing, but it was only about twelve months since we were suffering from the rubbish that Burns brought.

Lacoste If he was 55 not 35 neither of you would want him.

People get puppy eyes over younger managers but realistically, Monk has done nothing that makes me think he's a good fit for us.

It's common for a manager to have a good first season of the back of work by the previous manager before they start to bring in their own players and their own tactics/ethos starts to take hold and form starts to dip. Monk/Clarke at WBA and even Roader at WHU a few years back is testament to this.

Monk has done absolutely nothing to suggest he is going to be a good manager.

You've been tricked by the sky sports "young up and coming manager" rubbish.

Sorry

Yeah, whatever.

Ok, Ian. Talk us through why you think Monk would be a suitable fit for us at the moment. Give us a detailed opinion.

Paddy Power were offering odds of 4/5 for Nigel Pearson, and 2/1 for McDonut - but they have closed the bet. Which makes me think they know something we dont

Tbh it's obviously going to be Pearson, everything else has just been paper talk.

Weren't we already in talks with him when Clarke was involved in Fullhamg8? Suspect there wasn't much which needed to be sorted and it will be announced on Monday.

It's a shame we can't get his backroom staff though.

No evidence we were in talks with Pearson bar a random social media account claiming he was getting off a train.

Though I wouldn't necessarily classify the Daily Mail as evidence per se.
