winchester_royal Betfair is an exchange site, so the odds you're seeing are the lowest odds that people are 'laying' at.

They've also had a sportsbook for a few years now.

Elm Park Kid I don't want to sound melodramatic . . . . . but if Brian isn't our new manager I not sure i could bring myself to go to the mad stad ever again. . . . . . and I have a season ticket.

Don`t let the door hit your arse on the way out. so what have you been doing for the last 2 and 1/2 years?

Like most Reading fans i've been going through the motions; every game traipsing up to the stadium with a black hole where my love for McDermott used to be, all the while believing that he would one day come back and make things right.

If that hope if forever extinguished i'm not sure I could carry on going through the charade of being a loyal royal.

That's just pathetic.

There is space here for another great managerial appointment that with success everyone can grow to love. In ten years time we can't just have everyone still pining for Brian.

You sound like a hormonal girl pining after One Direction TBH.

Good work - well done - wonder when Charles Watts will catch up with this.

Kuhl on McDermott being at training yesterday.

“I didn’t know I looked like that,” he joked. “I thought I’d lost a bit of weight.

“Last time I saw Brian was in France watching the England Under-20s when he was doing his job with Arsenal.

“I’ve known him for years. If he was here yesterday I will be disappointed that he didn’t come and shake hands.”

Elm Park Kid This is how I view the whole thing:

GetReading published a series of articles in which they said that McDermott was going to be the next Reading manager. Obviously you can't take anything 100% for granted without official confirmation but they were as conclusive as any press article is going to be. I honestly can't see how anyone could argue any differently given the language they used.

So this means that either:

1. GetReading's sources seriously let them down - basically officials at the club jumped the gun. In which case we should be blaming the club for not controlling their employees.

2. GetReading decided to 'sex up' the tip off they got from their sources. They jumped the gun themselves.

Eitherway, why didn't the club quickly issue a statement saying that no decision had been made? When Sky Sports news started including a piece on McDermott on their rolling news didn't RFC think that it might be a good idea to clarify the situation before fans got the wrong idea? Surely this is a sign that the club is far too restrictive in it's communication and that a small amount of transparency would be helpful.

Didn't GetReading base all of that on the fact that BBC Radio Berks had said with some certainty that McDermott was going to be appointed and didn't that stem from Ady Williams claiming that he had seen McDermott at the Mad Stad?

Mind you, Watts & co really did then go to town on the story and all of their follow up articles, particularly as there was no sign of anything official coming out from the club!

DangerousDogNonce New betting odds

Brian McDermott out to 3/10 from 1/6 and Stuart Gray surprisingly second favourite

I'll give you that Stuart Gray is a bit of a surprise but are we just assuming that the current manager of Barcelona would always naturally be in the mix when the reading job comes up?!

The people of Catalonia will be praying we don't follow up our interest in their strikers!

Because they are football fans and have questionable mental temperament and a fragile emotional state.
