Decent play at times but soft where it counted.

Another shit result against a shit team. Not good enough.

We'd lost that before the match even kicked off. What the actual fuck was Brian thinking?

Piazon and Hal up front was a special kind of brain fart.

Another game they conspired to lose. Hal's found some pace recently, started well, Piazon wasn't awful.

Both goals through the hole between Quinn and Hector. Quinn's a trier, but not a left back.

No argument with Hector's sending off. If you're going down on the touch of a feather, you've got to sell it better than that.

Liburd was shit. Touch of a rapist, no clue what anyone else was doing and failed to extend his leg when any touch would have scored.

A decent 10 minute spell at the start of each half, otherwise was pretty turgid.

Lost count of the number of times we gave the ball away cheaply. The movement of our midfield, especially from throw ins, is severely lacking.

2 decent goals to lose to, but the first ran from inside hind own half to score from 25yrd and the defending for the second was non existent.

Two good goals (the first one being fantastic) from Brentford. We played well at times. So very good football. The last three goals have come on the left flank which is no coincidence IMO.

Our corners were largely poor often only just about getting beyond the first player. Not good enough.

Our crosses were not good enough either.

These are all issues from the Wolves game (where we again played some good football at times).

Brian - what the fck are you playing at bringing on Liburd ahead of Sa - who's one of the few players that can score from nothing.

Blackman is not being utilised to his best abilities either.

We will face a relegation battle if we don't start finishing off our chances - despite the many positives.

need to ship out some of these loans and get more "The Reading Way" type players in,even if we have to blood more youth in the side

We've had some relatively easy games (on paper) these past few weeks and looked poor, how long you give him ?

Exactly this. Blackburn was probably the hardest yet we won. We really should have got 9/9 against Wolves, Brentford and Bristol. As it is we have 0 so far and I don't care how "unlucky" anyone thinks we've been, it's not good enough plain and simple.

Fantastic results this honeymoon period has brought. I'd hate to see what happens when we get 'shit' again. :|

More than three games, we're not Real Madrid.

Sa has not scored in 9 games, spends most of his time diving, sitting on his backside when he doesn't get a decision. Personally I'd bring Samuel back and give him a chance ahead of Liburd but Sa can't expect to get on given his form and attitude when he is on the pitch.

Blackman - 12 goals in 24 apps this season, position: winger
Sa - 5 goals in 18 apps, position: bench
Vydra - 36 goals in 83 apps while at Watford, position: bench
Samuel - 3 goals in 10 apps, position: out on loan

HRK - zero goals, position: striker.

Absolutely shite team selection

Sa, zero goals in 9.

Couldn't give a flying f[u]ck what Vydra did at Watford, he's been terrible at Reading.

We were done by two class goals but we're really struggling to hurt teams in the opposing penalty area. John and McShane were outstanding today. HRK was also damn good as well while he was on the pitch.

Question though : What exactly is Brian meant to do with the squad when he has been appointed right before xmas and faced/faces 4 games with naff all turn around time for recovery, let alone any time to start getting the team organised and understanding what he wants and whatever game plan and identity he wants to get across. That really won't be able to start until next week, so it's going to be February and March before that starts bedding in. Expectation therefore should be mid-table/top half.

Cox, Stacey, Fosu and Samuel are all back from their loans next week so it will be interesting to see what Brian does with them as will what deals, both in and out, will be done in January.

Touch of class for our goal tbf to Vydra, then managed to miss a header from about a yard out. The game was there for the taking today, we just didn't want it enough.

Edit - Lol at John being outstanding, he was barely standing half the half he played before being hauled off. He looks like a decent player, but ffs pass the ball man.

Blackman - 1 goal in his last 12
Sa - not scored since October
Vydra - 2 goals in 14 apps
Samuel - 3 goals in 10 is not that great, and not even at this level

Just to add to my earlier assessment - if everyone had the desire of Danny Williams we would be winning these games. He is absolutely relentless, which was summed up by the way he defended near the end and doing the defenders job for them. Player of the season so far IMHO.
