Funny thing is, that's why I did it. You all fell for woodleys one and I was seeing if you were all stupid enough to fall for it again, which you were and it was no surprise

Mods must have deleted all those posts where people "fell" for either post. Most responses seem to be calling you a twat, which on the evidence, would be entirely accurate.

Latest "throwaway" remark in the EP article about Jaap pondering his future is "Chinese brother and sister Dai Yongge and Dai Xiu Li were linked with buying the club but talks with the Football League have dragged on now for more than three months and the deal appears to have fallen through."

Both our previous take overs took a protracted period of time to complete so unless they've heard something from a reliable source, I would suggest there's still a chance of this happening.

If it does fall through, considering the shady people who have managed to get through the fit and proper persons tests, it would suggest to me that we've dodged a bullet.

I don't think GR know any more than anyone else to be honest, certainly not with Low in charge currently

I dunno. Some of those comments by Stam are pretty explicit.

where and when did those quotes come out, was it this week? or is it that J low is digging up old statements from several week back, as he has nothing better to do and write about.
Also is it just an attempt to get some form of reaction from the club on the ownership issue?

Had a conversation recently that suggested not only is the takeover still very much on but the Chinese are actively involved at the club.
Clearly there will be limits until they formally takeover and I had no insight into why things have taken so long but the message seemed very positive.
I hope Yapp and Brian are kept informed and remain part of The Project.

With the club on the brink of a play-off place I think there is a chance that the Thai owners may be reluctant to sell at the original price.
Total speculation of course.

We're pretty much in the same position we were when the deal was first discussed in terms of league position.
But I agree, perhaps two prices have been agreed and both sides are happy that if we don't go up the price is x and if we do then the price is 3x. Why would the Thai's sell cheap and then see the PL money roll in and why would the Chinese pay top money and see us miss out on promotion. A mid range price would not really suit anyone and maybe the gamble would appeal !
Speculation.....

As long as someone keeps Brian and Jaap in the picture so they can plan for the team......

Heard this is very much still happening. The FA are stalling because of when the deal had fallen through with Hull previously. They will also need to explain to Hull how they are allowed to take over a championship club but not Hull City.

I thought it was established pretty early on that the people who failed the fit and proper test in the Hull takeover were not involved in the Reading bid.

Can't see there being much to explain if that is the case.
