Pepe the Horseman Andre Wisdom stabbed and robbed whilst visiting relatives

Jesus wept. Hope he's OK.

I remember years ago, a West ham player callum davenport (?) got stabbed twice in the leg and had to retire. He was quite good

That’s to follow unless EFL are to their word and does not apply for rest of the season.

All out of the blue!

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a few other casualties financially from Covid.

Going into Administration (points-deduction-wise)

is hardly the same as Fair Play rules, is it?

Unless Wigan have realised they have a window to do the dirty?

did wonder if they have decided to take their chances on a points deduction now rather than next season. not sure what it would be but would back themselves if it was 9 points i reckon

The deadline for a 12 point deduction was March, but because of the break it could still apply.

EFL rules clear on this. If Wigan finish outside of the relegation places after 46 games then the 12 point deduction is applied this season on conclusion if season. If Wigan within 11 points of 22nd team (or 12 points if worse goal difference) they go down. If more than that they stay up.

EFL have made a statement
IF the club is not in the relegation places following the final game of the season, the sanction will be then applied to their season 2019/20 total and final league standings amended as appropriate.

Their run in involves back to back games against Barnsley, Hull and Charlton. You'd think they need at least 6 points from those 3.

So in effect we are now 8 points clear of the drop zone and the bed wetters on twitter can calm down a bit.

Wigan Athletic have gone into administration, becoming the first English professional club to do so since the coronavirus pandemic began.

The English Football League has said Wigan will be deducted 12 points.

The sanction will be applied at the end of this season if the Latics, 14th in the Championship, finish outside the bottom three after 46 games.

Should Wigan finish in the relegation zone, the penalty will be applied during the 2020-21 season instead.

(Lux checks the table)

By the way, the Huddersfield Town chairman reckons there could be up to 60 clubs going the same way :x

The way Wigan are playing they could take a 12 points deduction and still not end up in the bottom 3.
