Brentford not winning tonight would be a massive surprise, in fact I would rather they win tonight - knock Bristol further back ahead of a tough run for them (Cardiff, Watford, Us, Barnsley, Boro follow for them after tonight) - keeps Bristol 8 back having played one more.

We really need to beat Brentford if we want to get above them - they also go to Boro on Saturday as well, so would be happy with them drawing there meaning if we beat Stoke we could go above them with a win next week, whilst opening up the gap further below.

The inertia and stagnation at Bournemouth has set in over a couple of years. Do not expect a new manager to turn it around overnight. If we're looking seriously at automatic promotion, Bournemouth are not a genuine rival.

That would be great. Can't imagine he agreed to join just as a coach when it was clear the manager was a dead man walking.

I've had a fiver on JT at 12/1. Heavily linked with the Derby job, but this would be a much better opportunity for him. Could be seen as someone to come in and put a rocket up them. And they wouldn't need to change the tracksuits.

Zip I’m not expecting anything other than a Brentford win tonight against a poor Bristol City side. Would like Swansea v Norwich to be a draw.
We have some tough games coming up but with our injuries clearing up they are winnable.

Yep, Bristol in awful form away from home, lost their last five away in the league, with only 1 goal scored (which was an own goal) - would be surprised if they got anything from tonight but then again, this is the Championship so anything can happen

We need to try and close the goal difference to Swansea and Brentford, who are 7 and 10 goals ahead of us respectively, as given how tight it seems at the top so far, may come down to that

While it would be a daft move for Lampard doesn’t Redknapp have a lot of influence at the club ?
If the owner wants to sell up some sort of consortium of tax dodgers based around Redknapp with Lampard as an unsackable manager might not be impossible.

He had a torrid time at 'Boro where he lasted longer than would be the case because of his local hero status.

The fans were never very happy down here with the appointment of Tindall but the anger is more at the underachieving players than the manager or board.

Unfortunately I don't think this is good news and their next 3 league fixtures aren't probably the hardest in:-
Birmingham
Forest
Rotherham

Anyway Tindall had to go once they had lost to a little club like Reading.

Not beyond the realms of possibility for Redknapp to come in as Director of football for the rest of the season.

As for influence around the club, there is a strange combination of The Russian and his mates who just get pissed at games and a load of old players in most of the coaching and advisory roles with the chairman somewhere inbetween.

Back to our competitors what a great couple of nights so far with both Watford and Bournemouth losing at home.

I am trying to not get carried away and that first half on Friday was something else but we do have fixtures against teams that won't let us play where we sometimes struggle so feet on the ground still.

This is a very good season though and thank goodness for Sky and i-follow.

Redknapp just comes over a grumpy old git nowadays, don't think he'd do them a lot of good.

Brum at home is actually a lot harder than it looks. For Brum - 19 points from 13 games and only conceded 8 away all season. Its their home form which has been dire. Reckon they'll take something off bournemouth

Redknapp ruined them financially once, so quite happy for him to come in and spend their parachute payments on his dog.

Just a shame they didn't appoint him before the transfer window closed!

NewCorkSeth Tindall gone.

My my.
How times change.
Sacked because Bournemouth are *only* 6th in the Championship.
They demand a lot, these giant coastal club boardrooms, eh?

Aren't they currently having one of their 10 best seasons ever?

Actually, is this one of ours?

1 - 8th
2 - 18th
3 - 19th
=4 - 21st (1st)
=4 - 21st (1st)
=6 - 23rd (3rd)
=6 - 23rd (3rd)
=8 - 24th (2nd - 95)
=8 - 24th (4th)
=8 - 24th (4th)
11 - 25th (5th)

Something like that?

Did you get the other 5 right?
I don't do too badly with football betting in general but am quite poor when it comes to Super Six.

For example I would not have predicted Saints losing 9-0 when everybody else probably thought they were due a mid-season 9-0 result (again).

Nah, I got 12 points though. Had the Palace / Newcastle score correct and then I think I had Utd 4-1 so there were the other 2 points.
