Next season's top 2
WBA and Fulham.
Its a bit sad that I can predict that comfortably but until the parachute payments stop you will only get the odd Barnsley in there that might stand a chance in the playoffs. I honestly believe that even if we improve for next season position 4-6 is the best we can achieve, even if we cut out losing to the bottom clubs.

Ouch, just watched the Birmingham goal, we think we must be gutted but that is a killer for Rotherham.

I had a moan about parachute payments on Twitter, just had Norwich fans telling me to cry more and that a Reading fan shouldn't be lecturing others on club finances.

If anything, Reading's financial mess is caused in part by the massive gap in finances between Prem, Champ and the parachute payments and trying to chase the Prem money. Plenty of teams gamble and fail, plenty gamble and succeed. The stark reality is that the majority of teams that go between the Prem and Champ is largely becoming a smaller pool of teams.

West Brom, Norwich, Fulham and Watford are constantly yo-yoing and I can only see this increase, if Swansea don't go up soon they will probably fall into a similar mess as we have unless they shed a large chunk of their wages.

Our financial mess was self made. We had a huge and bloated squad. Players on unsustainable wages and long contracts. Madness for the size of the club. We were warned about it and went into a soft embargo. Gomes was brought in to apparently bring on Academy players. What do we then do? Go on another financial splurge and rack up huge debts again. Appalling stewardship.

I hope lessons have finally been learnt. No big spending please. Sell our best players. Use the loan market and bring on our best Academy players. It will be tough. We might struggle but I think we have enough in the squad to stay at this level.

Long way to go. Plenty of time for a Coventry red card before Barnsley hit 3 in the second half ;-)

I think if Barnsley either miss the POs or lose in them, they will be
bottom six next season

Mind you igf they WIN the PO's, bottom six is guaranteed

Almost guarantee we will go into the final day 3 pts behind them with a better GD.

Barnsley fall 2 behind to Norwich by half time. Reading 0 Huddersfield 1

Early equaliser in the 2nd half as news filters through that Barnsley pull one back.

Reading awarded 89th min penalty just as Pukki kills off Barnsley.

Swift puts the ball down, strikes the ball cleanly and.....

On paper Barnsley have the easiest run in but also all clubs with something to play for in a different reason. this may not be over yet. makes an interesting question would you rather play Luton and Swansea who within reason have less to play for than Huddersfield and Rotherham.

it may not be over yet.

bcubed Is the season over yet?!

No, we have have four games to play

Cheers

I'd like to stop thinking there is still a slim chance of play offs. Be relieved when that is no longer the case.

The hope. The oxf*rd hope!!

Coventry can you just concede twice already rather than getting our hopes up.
