Derby are a complete mess certainly. Thought Rooney had steadied the ship but they’ve crumbled recently

I know there's a VERY large if or two, but should we beat Luton there's a serious possibility we could right on Swansea's tail if we beat them

I'm sort of banking on Norwich still being on the beach, of course

Would be lovely if this midweek "repairs" some of the damage of after the Watford game.

Barnsley and Bournemouth fail to win whilst we do and it will be game on again. Although Barnsley slipping up again would do - we have to win though.

Just annoyed Swansea managed those back to back wins last week as they've been bobbins either side of it.

Really quite funny that Swansea have lost 3 games in the last minute recently after two outrageous refereeing decisions gave them late wins against Stoke and boro.

Annoyingly that point against Wycombe could be just about enough for them.

Aye. They have us and Watford to come, can see them losing both. Luckily for them they have the hideously poor Derby in between.

Derby’s record against the playoff teams:

0-0 and 2-2 with Brentford
2-1 win and 1-1 with Bournemouth
2-0 win over Swansea with the game to play
0-0 with Barnsley (with them on a 7 win streak at the time) and a 1-0 defeat (although Barnsley were 18th at this point)

Gives an overall record of 2-4-1 against playoff teams. As further context, I believe they were the only side to have beaten Norwich at Carrow Road this season before their promotion was announced too

Not against the realms of possibility for them to get something there. Still, we’ve got to do our job done first which is getting 2 wins from the next 2 before thinking of further complexities

Courtesy of Pukki shinning a last minute penalty into Suffolk IIRC.

<EDIT> I don't remember correctly. It was a second half penalty that would have given Norwich the lead. Rooney scored the winner with an 87th minute 30yd free kick

It's quite remarkable they have a strong record against the play-off teams especially considering their position and then go to us directly outside the play-offs and we did the double over them.

Perhaps better against teams that open up more? You'd normally associate teams higher up in the table as more attacking, open teams

For reference, they lost away at Sheffield, Rotherham did the double over them, Wycombe battered them at home before drawing away there etc etc

Would be an interesting irony if we somehow manage to pip Swansea to a playoff place on the final day. Unlikely of course, but beyond the realms of possibility.

Even better if we win 4-1 at The Madstad while they get tonked at Watford

Bournemouth 1 up and on course for a 7th straight win.

At the bottom, Rotherham lead early and could move a point behind Derby with 2 games in hand.

Muff have definitely hit form at the right time, well maybe a bit late considering they were once fighting for autos. They'll be a real favourite for the play-offs if they end the season like this.

Rotherham down to 10- long time to go.

Eurgh. And that's Crooks suspended for the Barnsley game too. No idea how important he is tbh...

Rotherham really are a bunch of bottlers. What a shocking couple of weeks for them
