Short term contract - maybe just until, the World Cup. He’d do that for nothing probably, he doesn’t need the money. Huge boost for Cardiff and for Wales. He’d then either retire after the WC or head to,the US to boost the bank balance having taken a few months off
Seems entirely possible and plausible. Good luck to Cardiff if they pull it off.

Rotherham losing their two best players to Sheffield Wednesday. At least we know who will be finishing bottom next season.

Yep that prob makes the difference between bottom and second-to-bottom

Bloody odd that, they work all season to get promoted then decide to stay where they are, money talks.

Can't blame them really. If you had the option of a season long relegation struggle or an almost certain promotion challenge plus more or equivilant money then its a pretty easy decision.

Yep this may well be the case. I can’t see him wanting to play Championship football in February post World Cup.

If Bale signs for Cardiff, they won't really be paying him much of anything. It'll be similar to Carroll playing for us for 1k pw - he'll be using them to stay match fit and possibly to fulfill a childhood dream of playing for his boyhood club - he doesn't need the cash does he?

West Brom sign Jed Wallace. They are assembling a very decent squad.

Gourlay going balls to the wall, like he did with us. Promotion or bust.

4 year deal for Wallace. Hints of Aluko about that one, already 28

Gourlay will never learn because he keeps getting jobs. Once people stop hiring the fcuk he might learn but then again it isn't his money is it? He seems to be able to charm the Chinese very well.

You wonder if West Brom even bothered to check out what he was thought of at Reading. An absolute disaster for us. Now it might be they go up next season but if they don’t FFP will start becoming a big issue once their parachute payments end.

Depends what sort of story he has given. He could say decisions were taken out of his hands and were taken directly by agents from outside the club for example that have tainted his reputation when he was here, which could be true as well to be fair.

Still maintain it was disastrous when he was here, but he will probably point to saying it wasn't all on his head.

Ascotexgunner Some serious money being splashed on wages and transfers by the likes of Stoke, Cardiff and Gourley FC.
With Burnley/Watford/Norwich coming down, they arnt nailed on to go back up. Then there's Sheffield and Boro....the top will be quite interesting and there will be some angry fans/manager sackings and disappointing owners next may...with EFL looking at finances very closely at one ortwo of them.

Gourley FC still have the benefit of some parachute payments...Stoke and Cardiff must be sailing pretty close to breaching FFP regulations, either that of they've decided to go gung-ho and go all out lol :D
I fancy Watford to go straight back up and Norwich should be top six, however, Burnley are in big trouble and will be mid table at best.

They literally sold their stadium for £70m and I believe only just passed FFP with that, if they don't calm down they will eventually breach it.

Also we sold our stadium for only £20m right? We're even shit at cheating.

Our stadium was sold for £37m in total. In one season for £26m, and then we got another £11m the season after. It was the second transaction that caused the EFL a concern in the summer of Jose Gomes. If you remember we had a bunch of academy players in pre-season, and then the floodgates opened with Puscas, Joao etc and that was the reason why. The EFL approved the extra £11m which created headroom in the P&S rules

I did not know this last bit. It explains the sudden splurge on players in late summer 2019

not many people do, but if you read the annual analysis of the accounts by STAR then it is all in there over the past 2-3 iterations. That document is approved each year by the club before it is released to ensure it is accurate
