Oma’s hero Gareth Ainsworth watching the play off semi in his battered leather jacket :)

Looking good to get to the final at the moment

So far :
A fantastic strike
A complete dive for a penalty
A goal direct from a corner
A stupid horrible tackle and a red card
A missed penalty

What a managerial display from Ainsworth. We should have gone in for him instead of Bowen.

What a managerial display from Ainsworth. We should have gone in for him instead of Bowen.

Did Ainsworth have a chat with the Fleetwood keeper before the game to get him to throw three of the goals in ?
Did he have a chat with the right back to ensure he dives in to get sent off ?
Did he have a chat with Paddy Madden to ensure he talked himself off ?

I thought we didn't like 'lump it' football as much as we didn't like Stamball.

He's clearly a good manager but he isn't the second coming.

Ainsworth is the greatest manager in the Football League.

Well he is, look at the job he has done. Pound for pound he is the best manager in the Football League. If you don't agree then your footballing knowledge is very poor.

Genuine question OMA....in your opinion, why has no other (bigger/higher) club looked at him as their manager ? He has been at Wycombe for almost EIGHT years...and it took him SIX seasons to get them out of the bottom tier. I can't quite see how taking six years to take a club out of the bottom tier makes him "Pound for pound the best manager in the Football League".

Just interested in your view that's all.

I think many have. I know he was close to joining Sunderland before Parky went there, QPR interviewed him before Mark Warburton got the job but Ainsworth turned them down and Barnsley wanted him too.
He has quite a high buyout clause at Wycombe apparently, might put clubs off. I think the next time there is a decent Championship job available he will be looked at for sure.

He didn't play last night and I think he is only used as a back-up.

I always thought we were a bit hasty in getting rid of Cooper who is a real physical presence and his passing is not as bad as some make out.
He also scores goals-last night with his "wrong foot" and I am pleased to say that I had backed him to score at anytime in the game although he did leave it a bit late. :D

The BBC had him down as starting last night. Agreed about Cooper. We do lack a centre back that can chop in a few goals in a season like Cooper.

I may not be such a big fan of Ainsworth as OMA but very much respect the great job he has done at Wycombe with such low resources.
People are quick to criticise "long ball" managers such as him, Parky, Dyche etc but what we don't know is what sort of football would be played under their management if they had the financial backing to buy some of the players that they would like to bring in.

These managers are readily criticised whereas other "long ball" managers such as Mourinho and Pardew tend to have received little such criticism.
In the case of Mourinho he has had great success but has also had fortunes to spend on players who are good enough to get results whatever the style of play.

You guys are aware that Miazga and Morrison have scored as many goals as Cooper this season right?

In fewer appearances. Far fewer in Miazga's case.

And we've only conceded 4 goals more than Millwall?

Get stuffed you Ed Davey wannabe. If you look all three in terms of goals scored per League appearances who has the best “strike” rate. I”ll give you a clue. It ain’t Morrison or Miazga.
