The Cube Any time an organisation fails to pay wages on time it's a sign that there is something seriously wrong. Even when they come back with some platitudes about an administrative error, you just know that there is more going on.

Exhibit A, April 2019 - Reading fail to pay salaries, and blame it on a Hong Kong bank holiday. People on here said it was no big deal.

And then we went bust?

This is getting some coverage on the radio today -

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sport ... uyers.html

Birmingham City could be charged with breaching EFL rules after receiving unapproved funding from prospective buyers Paul Richardson and Maxi Lopez who have been helping the club with running costs without approval

Not sure how serious this is or what the charges by the EFL could be

Depends on how much they are funding and what I guess. If they are essentially paying the wages and the club couldn't otherwise meet then I would suggest it could be a big issue for Brum esp. given their recent history of breaking EFL rules.

Depends how it is viewed ultimately, whether this means they are receiving funding through external sources or whether they are receiving third party funding through a "Relevant Person" (without prior clearance from the EFL), which you'd imagine prospective buyers of a football club would be classed as "Relevant", but I'm not clear on what the rules are. The prospective buyers seem to think this is part of the arrangement to buy the club.

It will be interesting to see what punishment follows, if found guilty, especially after they didn't receive any further punishment for breaking their Business Plan agreement with the EFL after they were docked nine points back in 2019.

Birmingham have also just gone through this utter car crash of a crypto partnership, which isn't getting much publicity either:

It's a long read, but a good one.

Don't think they'll need help to go up but a favourable penalty decision and rad card in two home games certainly helps.

Ok, Luxwatch for the three teams I think we need to lose whenever possible:

Huddersfield
Wigan
Hull

Hope this post ages well.

Jeremy Simpson was 4th official, he probably had some input.

Burnley are going up aren't they.
Agree with the three teams LUX mentions and would add a fourth in Bristol City.

How is this even allowed that an official can go back to back on teams?!

Must have a clause that he can only work in his home county of Lancashire.

Yes, possibly cardiff who don’t look up to much. Both Rotherham and Blackpool seem to have a little bit too much about them

As said before - County has no relevance.

Yep, I think they seem to be the 3 at the moment. Not convinced by Bristol City, Rotherham or Blackpool but as mentioned, they seem to be able to get a decent result here and there.

Outsiders? Stoke and Cardiff? Probably not going to go down but will probably end up lower mid table by the looks of it.
