bobby1413 Not read that article but one of my ideas:
Bonus points if a team wins by a margin of more than 2 goals. E.g. a team winning 5-2 would get a bonus point.

Green I like the idea of it - gives the mid table more to play for. But the trade off is, say you're bottom at christmas - there's probably less to play for. Just have to accept your f8. Maybe bottom two go down 2 divisions or something.
But it'll never happen in today's money driven game.

Bottom 3 down, next two into play offs with the two winners of the Championship play off semis.

Trying to work this out but failing. Wouldn't that mean more go down then come up?

genome Relegating half the division is a terrible idea.

Greengenome Relegating half the division is a terrible idea.
Got any better ones, or are you happy enough just shooting everyone else's down?

Might as well give 1 extra point per goal scored to encourage more attacking play, even from a team that's 6-0 down..... although, a team down the bottom could play 11 attackers and just go for goals and forget all about winning or even drawing a game.bobby1413 Not read that article but one of my ideas:

Needs more thought.

linkenholtroyal I like the idea of a 2 year season with 44 teams in it every 10 years, the top 22 then form the Premier league for the next 8 years with 2 being relegated and 2 promoted each year from both divisions as usual.

1. C3 V C6
2. C4 V C5
3. P18 V Winner of 1
4. P17 v Winner of 2
5. Winner 3 V Winner 4
2 up 2 down and one at the mercy of the play offs
Would suggest games 3, 4 and 5 are all one offs at Wembley to avoid exhaustion on the Championship teams
