Love how DK says what he thinks. But I do think he's been a bit of a cock here.

Firstly I don't think RFC do enough to honour the squad. It would be nice to see actual references to the team around the ground:

Statue of Sir Steve throwing his jacket
Something relating to the season
Something in town

I also think they should do more to get older players back. The 10 year anniversary was a good opportunity.

I always loved Dave Kitson and was gutted when he left us and then it didn't work out when he came back. And he's right, it is a disgrace how they haven't been invited back. It's easy to say it's because of the foreign ownership, but Sir JM is still involved. Why hasn't he attempted to arrange something? Or he is the "old guard" that is referred to?

Anyway, his post sounds like a drunken rant. And I'm not quite sure what the first part about being left alone and saying he doesn't give a fukk has to do with the second about being sad he's been left alone and clearly giving a fukk.

He's got a point that most clubs would milk the achievement dry but at the same time the club did something for Bobby Convey when they heard he was sick.

He was always willfully single minded but he comes across as insecure. Club legend and all that and one of my favourite players ever but does Kitson really need a reminder of what he used to be and how much his career started to go down the toilet the moment he refused to provide a sample?

Tbf most of the players live abroad Doyle, Marcus and Convey in the USA. Brynyar and Iver both in Iceland, Sonko in France. Long and Sidwell both playing. Murty in Scotland. That leaves Harper, Shory, Little, Lita and Kitson. Who are all wealthy men Reading are not obliged to look out for them once they leave the club. I'm not sure what Kitson expects. If he were to turn up at the Mad stad he would be welcome back with open arms regardless of the owners.

Agreed club dont seem to bothered about history. Their contribution seems to be someone to draw the GG at HT and a bit of spiel in the match programmes. Could and should do more but then they celebrated the 85/86 team achievements 31 years after the event rather that 30 so expect to see something in 2037
