Hound Crowd were excellent tonight as well

Very supportive, lots of singing and a good atmosphere all round

It takes two to tango, crowd will respond to what they say on the pitch.

It was also good to see a team that came to play rather than park the bus. Perhaps a bit naive and they had to after conceding quite early. But it helped to make it entertaining

Best chant of the night "how shit must you be, we're winning at home"

CountryRoyal Why did VDB come off at HT?

Injury.

Biggest result 0f the night.

Prick. JVDB was outstanding in the 1st half and we missed him badly when Manonne had to come to our rescue on 4 occasions in the 2nd half.

alfie9 I appreciate Sam Smith's work ethic but this performance for me is justifying why Stam went strikerless for so long

Disagree he keeps making runs pulling his marker around but no ones reaching him.

He's pulling his marker the wrong way....
When swift was charging up the left wing Smith ran right. How does that constitute a good run?

When McShanes got the ball on midfield on the right at least 3 times in the first half.

That's how, smarty pants.

I have to take issue with the 3rd goal being given as an og. looks on target to me, if Gray got the Leicester goal on Sunday Aluko should get that one tonight,

I will happily re-watch the frist half to prove you correct if you have general time indicators.

Cutey pants.

Exactly. By my logic he was due his customary conceding of a penalty/red card/yellow card combo.

Doesn't matter anyway as I rescinded my remark.

Well all I'll say is, playing Smith up front meant we could play Aluko and Barrow as wide men. As a result the balance of the team just looked right.

Agree - made plenty of good runs but there was a definite reluctance to play him in by the "senior" players.

Yeah that was frustrating - a couple of times McShane esp should have put it into the channels for him following a run, but turned back and played safe instead

I thought Smith did ok. Did what we needed for an hour, occupied their CBs, put himself about and did an ok job overall

We will be far stronger when Yann/Dadi fully fit in that role though

If that's a shot, after cutting inside, why did he then cut back towards the byeline if it wasn't to open up the crossing angle? Looks like a whipped ball across the 6yd box that's playing the percentages. Barrow's made a move in front of his marker but all the defenders are retreating towards goal so a touch from anyone would have put it in.

Not that it really matters, it went in, who cares how and by whom?

This. We didn't use him as a target which stifled us a little (you could see the difference in that area when Yann replaced him) but Forest defenders had to respect the fact he was making movements in behind. Yes he didn't always time them but it clearly created space in other areas of the pitch.

However Reading have been on somewhat of a downward trajectory in recent years, struggling to cope with life in the Championship.

Apart from, y'know, last season when we finished third

Ha ha! They're in proper meltdown mode. Very entertaining to read. There's one guy constantly calling us 'Middle class oxf*rd'. I nearly spat out my Quinoa laughing...

Gray`s was a cross too on Sunday afternoon that the Everton defender sliced into his own net, but they gave it to him, I would want Aluko to be credited with his first goal for the club, it looked well on target to me.
