Jackson Corner That was a piss poor result against Bristol, only there 2nd point of the season. The owners have put a lot of money into the ladies team, it seems Kelly Chambers is exempt from getting the sack? I know the top three is out of the question but that squad should be top five easy and we’re dumped out of the cup by a second tier part time team.

A tad unfair. They are 6th and could yet get to 5th by the end of the season and they lost to West Ham in the cup - who are a Super League team . If you are referring to Durham - they look like qualifying by beating two other non Super League teams and somehow getting a draw v Aston Villa - which is hardly Reading's fault.

The group draw was crazy and meant that many of the big teams such as Man U, Arsenal, Everton, Spurs etc failed to progress to the quarter finals.

Whilst i agree that Sunday’s performance was particularly poor. The cup we have gone out of is the Conti cup( league cup) with the main FA cup to come in the new year- a competition we have done well in previously.

Didn’t they lose to Leicester in cup last season? Who are 2 nd tier.

Playing better today, but bad goal to give away. Hopefully we can get back into the match in the 2nd half.

A good game to watch - real end to end stuff and very combative with challenges flying in from both teams. Some real hairy moments as on several occasions The Royals nearly got caught out trying to play out from the back (sound familiar to the men's team?!). Also in line with the men's team they were denied an absolute nailed on penalty. Fortunately Brighton got into even more problems playing out from the back and Reading fully capitalised on that.

Jess Fishlock MBE is still a superb player even though she's probably reaching the twilight of her career. Scored two well taken goals and absolutely walked away with the POM award from BT Sport (who had pretty much decided on it within the hour!).

Good work from the Assistant Linesman in the dying minutes of the game to spot that Rachael Rowe's shot, which had hit the inside of the far post, had bounced over the line before being hacked clear. TV replays verified her call - who needs goal-line technology?!

Yes the break has done it the world of good- one can see where the " growth lighting rigs" have been.
Latest Royals 0 Chelsea(Fran Kirby) 2
H-T 0-3(Kirby all 3)
0-4 53 mins(Kirby again)
0-5 85 mins Ji
F-T 0-5
Reading just cannot compete against the top 4 teams- the others they can beat.

The gulf in resources and quality between the really big clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal & Man City and the rest in the England's top division is now even greater in the women's game than it is in the men's.
