I'll file under "another manager who should have gone sooner"
Whether we have been unlucky or not, I don't think this squad is that bad. Every game we look like we set up not to try and lose.

Still maintain that as Director of Football, Chambers has done a superb job of squad building…but has made some very questionable choices as manager. This squad should be lower mid-table at worst.

Just got in…a dream start, but we still have no presence in midfield. We just get cut open time and again. It has been a problem all season, but nothing has changed. Looked good going forward, but as soon as we lost the ball, we were in so much trouble. We were lucky it was only 4.

35 odd shots against not good, that's one every 2.5 mins.

Do many follow us away?

I’m always surprised by the numbers that travel. Obviously it isn’t huge by any stretch…but there were at least 75-100 RFC fans in a crowd of 3102. On a side-note, it was noticeably fuller than last season. There were loads of people wanting autographs/pictures with the City Lionesses ( which wasn’t the case in last season’s game). This has been the case at every away game we’ve been to this season (even at Leicester, who don’t have any England internationals) which has been great to see!

Sorry to keep repeating myself but Leicester and Brighton changed managers. Chambers should have gone before the season started. She is out of her depth at professional level.

She has built a great squad as Director of Football. We shouldn’t be bottom with our squad. She hasn’t covered herself in glory as manager. As a serious WSL club, there should be one person doing each role.

I do like her as a person she is Reading through and through. The problem is it’s a big money professional business now. When Chambers started we had a few part timer’s no girl academy.

Indeed…but the squad is good enough. Most predictions had us finishing 8th-10th. Too late now, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see someone else in the dugout for 23/24. Think she’ll keep the DoF role though…and I’d support that change!

Villa and Spurs up next for RFC…3 points as a minimum from those two (obviously most likely to be against Spurs) Two draws won’t be enough with Chelsea (H) looming on the final day. 4 points would go a long way to seeing us safe. 6 would be certain to save us. However, I can see us getting 1 or 0…we don’t want to need a result against Chelsea to stay up, as they are likely to be right in the title mix!

I have no confidence that we will get any points from those. If we can’t get anything from Everton we won’t from Villa.

Predictions were obviously before the season started, I suspect they were also influenced by the way we'd managed to consistently defy the odds and punch well above our weight in seasons past. The squad had some quality but was lacking that quality in any depth. Then injuries hit. Losing Deanne Rose, our only top class international player, long term was a massive blow. IIRC the rest of our 'International' players don't come from international powerhouses in the women's game and that's what makes us different from most teams in WSL1.

Yeah, it is looking pretty bleak. We just cannot take advantage of the goals we’ve scored…too many times this season we’ve been right in games to then throw it all away with awful defending. I’d be amazed if we get more than one point from the final 3.

If there ever was a must win game Sunday’s visit by Aston Villa to the SCL stadium for a WSL match KO 2pm then this is it for the Royals !! The match is live on FA player.
