Reading were awarded the worst penalty decision in WSL history today. The Man Utd defender clearly headed the ball !!!! Hopefully the match highlights will be available soon.

Good, bad or indifferent decisions...at least there is no VAR yet

Clear penalty, don’t know what you mean

Love the utter confusion from both teams when’s it given

Wow

Since when were headers classed as handballs?

Agreed, poor decision....VAR would’ve admonished the ‘offender’ .......but VAR is still not the ultimate answer...it interrupts and is looking too hard at reasons not to award goals...it is also embarrassing

Was there saw it live then the TV footage. It is a terrible mistake - the only thing that can be said in the ref's defence is that the TV camera is filming from a completely different angle than the ref will have been looking at it real-time, the defender jumped with both arms above her head and I suspect her right arm was between her head and the ref's view.

That having been said, I'd still rather live with the very occasional really poor decisions/mistakes for and against the team I support than endure the appalling, atmosphere/tempo killing VAR as currently implemented. I've been to quite a few live MLS games and VAR works slightly better there but still has a tendency to spoil the game for supporters who actually attend matches rather than watch on TV.

Can't see there being many meaty tackles in that one.

Hopefully they'll continue the local tradition of ripping the Foxes to shreds.

A great pity that Jo Potter looks to have picked up a very nasty knee injury due to a deliberate and cynical foul by a West Ham player. Ref only gave a yellow when IMO it warranted a red due to the aggression and force behind the challenge.

Otherwise a very enjoyable game that the Royals Women absolutely controlled from start to finish. I can't remember Rachel Laws having to make a serious save whereas Anna Moorhouse produced a couple of great one on one saves and the Royals also hit the post twice. Two great goals too - a very well worked free-kick and a powerful run and finish whilst holding off two defenders.
