Genuine question - what is 'our style of football'?

Nigel Clough or Daniel Farke but that isn't gonna happen.
I would go for a short term contact whoever it is and get a new manager in the summer and start afresh. I liked Pardew until the way he handled West Brom but he will see that out.
I honestly don't know who we should bring in. I think its too late anyway. It might be better to switch to a caretaker.
I really want an experienced manager, preferably someone with Championship experience.

I'm normally totally dismissive of the usual Coppell suggestion, but the fan impact alone is worth a two month contract to then have a proper look based on which league we're in next season.

Big Nos for me:
Redknapp, Terry, Gerrard.

I could accept Pearson for two months.

Clement, Warburton, Di Matteo, Parky, Lampard, Viveash, any young promising lower league manager, all ok by me.

Pardew has a job and there's no way he's a possibility currently.

Think long term we need to get someone who is going to buy into the academy. TBF to Stam he was doing this to an extent. I'm guessing Gourlay and co will make it a bit of a pre-requisite

The one thing we have over clubs is a great youth set up. There seems to be plenty of talent coming through and I'll be pretty annoyed if we choose to sign more journeymen next year over giving the likes of Novakovich, Smith, Richards, Watson (if he is ever fit again), Rinomhota and Loader a go.

Whore Jackie
Stranded The Dutch way isn't working so I hope we do not go looking down that path again - though wouldn't be adverse to Frank De Boer, was handed an impossible card at Palace.

Not so impossible that Hodgson hasn't improved them considerably. De Boer was awful at Inter too. Watched him as a pundit recently on BT and was quite shocked at how average his English was. Talked a fair bit of rubbish and was generally just a bit strange. I don't think going down the Dutch route again is a goer.

Agree completely that if it's a long-term appointment, it should be someone who can carry on the passing philosophy from Academy upwards.

De Boer was given a very specific brief at Palace to transform the way the club played following on from Allardyce, they wanted an expansive passing game. They hired De Boer to do that, then offered him no support to overhaul the playing staff to make it happen. When they started badly, hardly surprisingly, they paniced and got rid of him and abandoned the plans asking Hodgson to change the style back to one that suited the players they had.

De Boer was essentially hired to do one job but given the tools for another.

Nice to see Luis Enrique taking up his usual spot in the betting.

You don't want Ulderink as what's the point of removing Stam, it'd be like voting Labour in to replace the Conservatives or vice versa.

Stephen Reid anyone?

Stephen Reid might be a good caretaker appointment to the end of the season - knows the players etc etc

Stuart Pearce anyone? - Assistant to Moyes at West Ham, might fancy another crack at management - won't take any shit from the players, however he might be next in line for the West Ham job if Moyes fails.

Stephen Reid's not going to move from a full time perm job at Palace to become our caretaker boss though.

If it to be anyone from inside, Scott Marshall seems to have done a decent job overall for the U23. Be concerned about his lack of experience at this point of the season though
