In this order.....
1 Coppell
2 McDermott
3 Parky or Murty
4 Sherwood
5 Di Matteo

Just as a ps Joey must be sh**ing bricks now

also IN! for a lower league bod who is punching above his weight.

Your man at Shrewsbury has promoted every club he has been at aside from Shrewsbury who he currently has in a promotion spot,

With his Chelsea connections, perhaps Gourlay could get Mourinho in after he's sacked from Man U.

Skybet have Paul Clement as 1-3 on favourite - looks like the deal may have been done

Not all this Coppell nonsense again. Can't we let the man enjoy his retirement?

Our issue is the short term arse-kicker we need now will be from a small pool who aren't necessarily who we'd want in the medium-long term.

I'd like to see what Pardew could do in the Championship. Parky isn't proven at Championship level, but Bolton have done OK this season on meagre resources- how is he with a transfer budget? Might be a bit of a step up for Murty too.
A Lampard/Terry double act would be a left-field choice (like Stam), and not inconceivable due to the Gourlay connection .

Can't profess to know much about the up-and-coming lower league managers, but not many have made the step-up recently (besides Wilder?)

Don't see the point in looking back, so no Coppell or Brian for me. The fact that Coppell has been working in India after "retiring" suggests he is not the man even for a short term. Not sure he is suited to English football.

Nothing In BMc's 2nd spell suggests he is the man to turn around this particular team.

If Rangers want Murty after this summer then he is out but not sure he would be the right move at the mo. Can't see Parky walking on Bolton now - in the summer maybe.

Think we are looking at someone with experience now, Clement is the obvious choice whilst the club look at a longer term appointment in the summer.

There is a style through the club now of looking to play a passing game, so whoever comes in has to have that outlook esp as that is the way the Academy are set up. would be happy with Nathan Jones.

The Dutch way isn't working so I hope we do not go looking down that path again - though wouldn't be adverse to Frank De Boer, was handed an impossible card at Palace.

Really don't want Clement but I wanted Stam out so badly I can't really complain no matter who gets it.

Prefer an experienced man manager. Put an arm around the players lacking confidence, be clear and concise in his methods.
But I would take anyone mentioned above. Except Rednapp!

Not so impossible that Hodgson hasn't improved them considerably. De Boer was awful at Inter too. Watched him as a pundit recently on BT and was quite shocked at how average his English was. Talked a fair bit of rubbish and was generally just a bit strange. I don't think going down the Dutch route again is a goer.

Agree completely that if it's a long-term appointment, it should be someone who can carry on the passing philosophy from Academy upwards.

I'd be happy with him short term. He kept Swansea up last year and they were in a far worse position

However I do obvs then get it that if having kept us up, he'd prob get the job full time

Hound I'd like us to go with a lower league manager who has done a good job, such as Nathan Jones, Paul Hurst (prob my #1), Danny Cowley, Paul Cook, Gareth Ainsworth etc

Dean Smith as mentioned I like as well.

Whether they would a) leave their current club and b) be the right person to save us from relegation now is a toughie though

Ideally we'd get someone in to keep us up then look properly in May

Yep, this.

Well there is that, but I don't think Hammond restricted himself to former keepers either.
