loyalroyal4life Shane long going Bournemouth

Would have liked him back alongside Joao

No thanks. Stick with the memories, still have painful thoughts of Kitson returning on loan and just not quite being the same.

Long is 34 now and has moved for minutes, Bournemouth have just sold their main striker so he'll get those there. Here he'd have to be content with minutes off the bench as Joao starts and sticking Long in as well would just change the dynamic of the team too much.

Solanke is Bournemouth's main striker, King was shifted out as a winger/inside forward to accommodate that and can imagine Long, given his lack of goals in recent seasons, may play a similar role to that

Fair point - he will likely fill the King role though - we don't have that gap in our squad currently.

Roy Beerens has retired from football.

Thought he was excellent for us on occasion and we didn't make the most of him.

Agreed with the second comment

I have no idea why I just put myself through watching a replay of a playoff final, but I’m still wondering why the hell Barry Hunter kicked that ball against Tony Rougier’s head...

I can’t answer that question either!

I was reminiscing over a Nicky Forster goals compilation & then ended up watching that

Emi Martinez having a great game against Brighton. Guy could easily play for a top team in Europe.

Alex Fernandez just scored an 89th minute pen away at Barcelona, to make it 1-1.

Reading's greatest ever transfer mistake scores the first and plays a big part in the second to help push West Ham up to 4th in their incredible season.

Is there another player who has achieved "cult status" for playing so few games for Reading FC?

David Lee started fewer games.
Paul Canoville didn’t play many more.
