Snowball
Nameless
Snowball Marshall was in charge for 1.5 as many games in 2018 as Gomes

But he wasn’t the manager....

He was IMO

He managed, changed line ups

Had fewer players to choose from. Nor did he take any risks with any players (i.e. Moore).

I think the 2018 performance table is useful as it does put how poor we've been into context. And it shows that it's not just one poor half season that got us in trouble, so there isn't really a question of hoping to regress to our mean. This is the mean.

It also shows that really, but for the plethora of poor teams last year saving us, we really were bad enough to warrant relegation because we simply can't cope at this level right now.

This has been the view of the vast majority for a long time, I would say.

Green
Silver Fox Considering football isn’t played over calendar years this is all pretty pointless isn’t it?

Quite, and frankly any time period would do if you want to show Reading are having a torrid time of things.

I dont think its that bad a stat actually.
Its of course made worse by the fact that we did our absolute best to get relegated last season but didnt even manage to do that. Most teams who put in that sort of a stinking year get relegated and reap the benefit of wins in the lower league. The calendar league table year also nicely sums up what I thought of the PO final.

Granted. Useful to see it spelled out so starkly and objectively though.

It's a far cry from the early 2000s that's fo sho. The 2006 table must have been a thing of beauty.

A good reflection of how poor we've become. Likely to fall further before matters improve.

91st to 92nd

Unless Wigan help us out we'll have dropped to 92nd on goal difference after just one day of 2019.

Happy New Year

Hang on - the Franchisees may just bail us out.

We'll only be bottom on alphabetical order

OK, I jumped too early.

We've scored and both Hull and the Ronald's have got 5

We're not even bottom of the 2019 Championship table - thanks Bolton
Rochdale & Cambridge help us climb to a lofty 89th.
One game into 2019 and we're already better than 2018 8)
